To this day, we can still sing the theme songs. New episodes were the topic of conversation at lunch the next day, our favorite characters' catch phrases became a part of our daily lingo, and season finales were a pivotal night in our households. From Disney Channel to Nickelodeon, the TV shows for those of us growing up in the 2000s were and still are the best that have ever been. In no particular order, take a trip back to the shows today's kids are missing out on.
12. Phineas and Ferb
With Candace and Perry the Platypus included, we envied these brother's summer fun and crazy adventures. After all, who wouldn't want a pet that doubles as a secret agent.
11. Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide
Before we went to junior high school, Ned told us all about it. Cookie and Moze of course helped fill up Ned's composition book as viewers slowly learned about school drama, even if he exaggerates the terror a bit.
10. Fairly Odd Parents
There is no greater wish we had than to have our very own magical godparents like Cosmo and Wanda. Timmy Turner, you were one lucky kid, even if Vicky was the worst babysitter ever.
9. That's So Raven
Oh snap! Raven's ability to look into the future made for interesting and hilarious situations with her friends Chelsea and Eddie. We also have to hand Raven some style points for encouraging us to mismatch, wear flare jeans, and put flowers in our hair.
8. Cory in the House
Branching off from Raven's hit show, Cory Baxter and his dad's move to the White House made for another Disney Channel classic. Introducing us to Madison Pettis and Jason Dolley, Cory's wacky personality and adventures in DC prove that he was the perfect cast for this comedy.
7. Lizzie McGuire
Hillary Duff was probably many girls' first favorite actress and singer. Relatable and talented, she was the perfect blend of a sassy best friend as Lizzie McGuire. As if the TV show wasn't enough, The Lizzie McGuire movie is a Disney Channel original movie that ranks high in my top ten.
6. Wizard's of Waverly Place
Our first introduction to Selena, this show channeled Harry Potter, high school relationships, Twilight, and infamous family drama. In a time where fiction was at its peak in the book world, the Russos brought us humor and magic on a relatable level. Not to mention that their original movie was also top notch.
5. iCarly
Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Spencer emanated our closest friend group. Wishing we could live without parents and have an awesome loft as a bedroom, we were big fans of the gangs web show. With Sam as a blunt troublemaker, Freddie as the cute tech guy, and Spencer as the quirky older brother, we always tuned in whenever iCarly came on.
4. Zoey 101
Rooting for Zoey and Chase all along, anybody who watched Zoey 101 wished they could go to PCA, ride scooters to class, and try the different flavors of Blix. With an extremely likeable cast and an actor for everyone to relate to, this show put high school on a high pedestal. It's a shame that this one couldn't've gone on longer.
3. Hannah Montana
A blend of two superstars, one in real life and one from the TV show, Miley Cyrus gave us albums of songs to sing along with and make up dances to. I'm sure many can still recite the bone dance. Because her and Billy Rae played themselves, Hannah Montana was almost like a sneak peak into their real lives. The father-daughter, brother-sister, and BFF relationships made Hannah Montana the show and the movie into a huge hit.
2. Drake and Josh
This show was lovable for boys and girls alike. The blend of these two step brothers made for a relationship that was just as funny as it was sweet. Drake and Josh's feuds and misunderstandings though, led us to laugh throughout.
1. The Suite Life of Zack and Cody
Whether it was the original or Suite Life on Deck, you couldn't go wrong with Dylan and Cole Sprouse. Mischievous and adorable, we crushed on these twins as they rummaged through their hotel and deck-life home. Esteban, Mr. Mosby, and Maddie also added to the fun as the boys got in sticky situations during each episode. Truly, this is a real favorite.
