Ditch your fake ID. You’re finally 21! New York City is home to some of the best nightlife for those of us who have just become legal. Check out these spots where you’ll find the college crowd and have the best times. Here are some places that my friends and I love!

For more information about the below bars click here!

1. Turtle Bay NYC

Daily drink specials and happy hour from 6-9 p.m. every Thursday and Friday are sure to pull you in for the pregame. It’s open until 4 a.m. which gives you more than enough time to explore its two floors, play at the beer pong tables and dance with your friends.

2. One and One

I’ve been here twice before and plan on going back many more times. Located on the Lower East Side, One and One always draws a crowd that’s ready to party. The first floor is a bit more relaxed with some seating and a bar you’ll have to push yourself to the front of. Head downstairs where another bar awaits and a DJ blasting your favorite songs. This place is packed by midnight so be sure to come earlier to beat the line!

3. LoneStar Sports Bar & Grill

LoneStar is perfect for a night out in the summer. Its outdoor seating with a backyard feel makes you feel like you aren’t even at a bar, but rather at a friend’s house. Televisions line the walls inside and outside so you never have to worry about missing your favorite teams even when your friends keep nagging you to go out.

4. McFadden's Saloon

If you’re looking for everyday drink specials, then this is your place! $3 drafts on Mondays, 20 ounce cocktails for $10 on Tuesdays and half price drinks on Fridays are just some of the specials you’ll find here. Come later in the night and you’ll find a crowd that’s just as ready to party as you are.

5. Calico Jack's

Mexican food and open bar. Yes, you read that correctly. Tuesdays are for $5 margaritas and quesadillas. Once you’re done eating and getting your buzz from the daily specials, stick around and have one of their fishbowl drinks that’ll be sure to keep you going all night.

Whether you're in college and just turned 21 or you're a recent post graduate, you'll love all of the above places! Click here for more information (addresses, websites and phone numbers) about the above bars. You don't want to miss out.

Now get out there and explore the city. Find your bar for your first drink as a 21-year-old. I bet you thought this day would never come. Cheers!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
