6 Must-Try Bars In Cincinnati This Summer

Well, Cincinnatians, it's that time of the year again. The time of the year where Cincinnati finally sees some sunshine. Summer in Cincinnati is something to look forward to, whether you are a college student who just turned 21, a 30 year old still trying to live a little or just a parent trying to find a cool place to try with an awesome view. These bars are worth the visit this summer, while they offer special deals, satisfy everyone's needs and have some great views of the beautiful Queen City.

1. Mt. Adams Pavilion

This is definitely a must try bar for college students on weekend nights. They have drink specials, a great DJ and different level floors that have multiple dance floors and bars. The Pavilion has one of the best views of the city, and during the summer, it is even better due to the live bands and rooftop decks. Not a fan of the nightlife scene? Not a problem because they have an awesome restaurant menu during the day.

2. Rhinegeist Brewery

If you don't like being in crowded bars, like me, this is a great place for you. This is the place to come to if you want to try great craft beer and have a good time. Rhinegeist has a giant annex room where you can play corn hole and ping pong. Cidergeist is my personal favorite, which is a yummy summer drink to try if you want something light and refreshing. If you have a larger group with you, then this is the best place to come. The rooftop doesn't have the greatest views of the city, but it has a great atmosphere where you and your buddies can hang out and have a drink.

3. The Phelps Bar

A must visit place during the summer time, the view from this bar will leave you speechless. Top of the Park is an awesome rooftop lounge that features views of Lytle Park, the Ohio River, Mount Adams and downtown Cincinnati. This is a great place to come visit if you want to enjoy a great view and feel sophisticated while you enjoy a glass of wine, beer or hand-crafted cocktails along with the small bites menu.

4. Brother's

This bar has the perfect view of the Cincinnati skyline and is located at Newport on the Levee. The restaurant is a great place to go to during the day, and during the night, they have drink specials. They have a drink special each day of the week and one of my favorite nights is Thursday, which is "College Night." This is a must try bar during the summer because they have an outside bar with the best view as well as a fire pit, which is convenient for those nights when it's chilly out.

5. Krueger's Tavern

This is a great spot located right in the heart of Vine Street. Krueger's is a nice place to visit during the day or the night. It has a great atmosphere with a beautiful rooftop overlooking OTR. Their menu offers some tasty sandwiches and awesome cocktails. One of my favorites is the "John Daly," which is a mind-blowing concoction of freshly squeezed lemonade, fresh brewed tea and Tito's vodka – a perfect refreshing summer drink.

6. Metropole

This bar is part of the 21c Museum Hotel. It has a stunning view and is a great place to come have a drink after work with your friends. The rooftop has a unique lounge area where you can enjoy one of their famous "Poptails," which is a definite must try when you visit. It is a Popsicle in a cocktail and will have your taste buds exploding! What more could you want?

Get out there, bar lovers. Cincinnati is waiting for you!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
