Netflix's Orange Is the New Black

We all have those days where we just want to sit in bed and watch a bunch of movies, or even binge watch all 30 seasons of a show. We can easily do this with the convenience of Netflix! However, we all know that one day we will see a movie/show that we want to watch and the next it has disappeared until it is reinserted into the cycle. Some movies/shows will linger longer than others, but their stay is never guaranteed! Below is a list of movies/shows you must watch before they randomly disappear!

1. Revenge

At a young age, Amanda Clarke's father is framed for a terrorist attack that he didn't commit by the South Hamptons's royal family: The Graysons. In four seasons of this thrilling show, watch Amanda Clarke go undercover as Emily Thorne as she destroys the lives of those who destroyed her father's, in an effort to exonerate his name. If you're hungry for revenge, just know, it's best served cold.

2. The Others

Though "The Others" is nearly fifteen years old, this film still frightens me to my core. This film features a devout Christian woman who contains her two photosensitive children within this dark old house. She believes that it may be haunted, but it is possibly not haunted by the entity of which she suspects. It may seem predictable at times, but it's well written plot will continue to surprise you in this classic ghost story. This film comes and goes from Netflix so I recommend watching this as soon as possible!

3. The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

If you're looking for something to entertain you with humor, "The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt" is a great fix for you! Kimmy Schmidt has been held hostage by her psychotic preacher who has convinced her and her friends that the world has ended. They are kept within a bunker beneath her hometown for fifteen years. Eventually discovered, Kimmy enters a modern New York City in which she hilariously strives to find her place with her new flamboyantly gay roommate and high-class socialite friends.

4. Gossip Girl

We all have secrets, and some are more easily concealed than others, but what if an anonymous online-blogger chronicled every mistake you made and published it online for everyone to see at the worst possible moments?! On Manhattan's Upper East Side, someone does just that to a group of beautifully, well dressed, privileged, and scandalous teenagers. Not only does "Gossip Girl" follow them through high school, but continues to expose their most darkest secrets as they strive to keep them buried with clever schemes and ruining lives, which ultimately provides Gossip Girl with more dirt. Who is Gossip Girl you may ask? That's one secret I'll never tell.

5. Planet Earth

If you're looking to get closer to nature without leaving your couch, then enter into "Planet Earth!" This documentary is presented in episodes which highlight specific regions of the planet: the poles, mountains, freshwater, caves, deserts, great plains, jungles, deep sea, and more!

6. American Horror Story

"American Horror Story" is probably one of the freakiest (but well written) shows on Netflix. Each season focuses around a different setting such as: a murder house, an asylum, a witch coven, and a freak-show. The show features the same cast that you will fall in love with, however, they portray different roles within each season.

7. Orange Is the New Black

An upper-middle-class woman, Piper Chapman, unknowingly participates in a drug deal by carrying a suitcase across an airport for her girlfriend, Alex. Years later, Alex is caught doing another drug deal to which she sells out Piper, resulting in her imprisonment. Though it may seem like an unfortunately sad drama, this show is hilarious. "Orange is the New Black" exposes the inner-prison social sphere and reveals what one must do to survive within it.

8. Clueless

Loosely based on the Jane Austen novel, "Emma," this 90's film shows Cher, a privileged Beverly Hills valley girl, playing matchmaker for everyone but herself. She believes finding herself a boyfriend is pointless, but then why does she devote so much time to making pairs of others? She sounds a little bit clueless if you ask me!

9. The Shining

Based off of Stephen King's novel, "The Shining" is a classic psychological horror film which follows writer and recovering alcoholic, Jack Torrence, journeying far out to an isolated hotel where he takes an off season job and also does some writing out there. Getting away can be good for the soul, but too much alone time will drive anyone insane! Or perhaps, it isn't the loneliness? Jack's son possesses supernatural powers which allows him to interact with the past and future which causes him to see ghosts which eventually begins to influence Jack's sanity.

10. House of Cards

This political drama follows Frank Underwood as he strives to obtain presidency with the help of his wife, Claire. "House of Cards" reveals the inner realm of politics as Frank ruthlessly murders and manipulates his way to the top, all while recognizing the fragility of the structure in which he works.

11. Breakfast at Tiffany's

"Breakfast at Tiffany's" is a classic starring the beloved, Audrey Hepburn portraying Holly Golightly, who is a naive, sweet, socialite. This romantic-comedy shows the developing relationship between Holly and a man who has just moved into the same apartment building. Hopefully he has enough money to satisfy her deep love for Tiffany's! (This movie comes and goes quite often! Make sure to watch this one before it disappears again!)

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
