In all my years of life, the most valuable thing that I have learned is to cherish my mom. I have recently come to the conclusion that moms are the super heroes that don't dress up, but are always there to save the day. There have been countless times when my mom has dropped everything to help me get through something so minuscule and I know that for the rest of her life, she will continue to do that. So mom, this one's for you.
1. Thank you for always being there
Thank you for everything you have ever done for me. You are always willing to drop everything for me and I appreciate that so much. I am so incredibly privileged to have a mother as amazing as you because you are always there, no matter what I need.
2. Thank you for knowing how to comfort me
You always know the best way to make me feel better. Nothing makes me happier than knowing you will be at home with a glass of wine for me when you know I have had a bad day. There is no one else I would rather toast and watch Bachelorette with than you.
3. Thank you for teaching me to love unconditionally
The love you have always given me has been absolutely incredible. You have taught me that no matter what, love will find a way. And you have loved me throughout every mistake I have made, and you have shown me how to love others through their mistakes. So thank you for teaching me how to love unconditionally.
4. Thank you for being funny
Your sense of humor makes my heart happy. Whether we are dancing together, or laughing about knock-knock jokes, thank you for being funny. I appreciate your light-hearted humor every day, and I am so grateful to have someone as amazing as you to laugh with.
5. Thank you for always defending me
Thank you for always having my back. From when I was nine and in trouble with the principal for no reason, to now, when you defend my engagement that not everyone approves of. Thank you for always having my back, and please know, I always have yours.
6. Thank you for letting me make stupid decisions
You have always supported my decisions, even the horrible ones. When I wanted to dye my hair blue, I knew you hated it, but you let me do it anyway. When I wanted to get a tattoo, I knew you didn't love them, but you let me get one anyway. For every decision I made, you supported me through it, no matter the out come, and for that, I am grateful.
7. Thank you for saying no
For every decision you supported me through, I am so thankful for how often you told me no. Because mom, you were right, I wouldn't have looked good with a septum piercing, or a lip piercing, or a butterfly tattoo. So thank you for saving me some embarrassing stories, and thank you for knowing what is best for me when I don't.
8. Thank you for being my biggest support
You are always my biggest encouragement to do well. I strived to be my best because you always told me if I did my best, it would be enough. But I always wanted to go that extra mile because it made you so happy to see me succeed and that has been a huge encouraging factor for me in college.
9. Thank you for putting me first
Mom you are my biggest fan. Thank you so much for always putting me before your needs. I couldn't ask for someone more supportive than you, and I know I don't always show enough appreciation for that, and I am sorry, but please know, I am so grateful for every time you put me before you. But mom, it's time to put yourself first. You deserve it.
10. Thank you for understanding that I'm not perfect
I have made so many mistakes in my life. I am so thankful that you have been there for me through all of them. Thank you for never judging me for the many mistakes that I made, and for sharing all of the mistakes you made when you were my age with me.
11. Thank you for being the best mom I could ever ask for
Literally you are the best. There are 1,000 reasons why, and explaining them would take a lifetime. You have thrown your all into being a parent, and I thank my lucky stars that I ended up your daughter. You have taught me invaluable lessons, and I know that this is just the beginning. I compare you with other moms when I meet them, but all of them fall short in comparison to you. You are seriously the best mom ever, and anyone would be lucky to call you mom, and it just so happen that I am that anyone.
Mom, thank you for being my whole world. Thank you for showing me right from wrong. Thank you for making mistakes with me. Thank you for being my mom. I love you to the moon and back.
