Of all the things about Halloween that I love, the movies have to be one of the best. There are so many, ranging from horror to comedy, and all in between. Get some candy or popcorn and get in the Halloween spirit!! Here are some movies that I look forward to every year.
1. "The Nightmare Before Christmas." This one is unique, because it can be watched for Halloween and Christmas. However, Tim Burton's animations go perfectly with the creepy themes of Halloween. Add a great story with some awesome music, and this one, of course, has to be on the list.
2. "Halloweentown." Disney channel originals, anyone? I used to live for these movies when I was younger! What better to get you in the spirit of Halloween than diving into a town where it's Halloween everyday?
3. "Carrie." Not exclusively for Halloween, but it will absolutely get you in the spirit! It's bloody, scary, and great inspiration for a costume! Plus, it's a Stephen King classic that I think everyone should see.
4. "Hocus Pocus." More Disney love here! I remember this movie being a favorite of mine, and it seems like a great one to re-watch!
5. "American Horror Story." Not a movie, but if you haven't seen any seasons of this show, you are missing out! Each is scary and has amazing characters and a suspenseful story line. If you're looking for something to get you in the Halloween spirit for the whole month of October, this show may be a great place to start!
6. "Pet Cemetery." Another Stephen King classic, if you're looking for something scarier. I mean, it's Halloween, what's scarier than freaky cemeteries?
7. "The Addams Family." This movie (also a musical!) is what I think Halloween is. Everyone should know these characters!
8. "Twitches." Disney does it again! This movie about magical twins is another good one for anyone who isn't into the scary movies.
9. "The Conjuring." I saw this movie in the theater, and it was one of the better scary movies that I've seen, and this coming from someone who doesn't typically go for scary movies.
10. "Scream." This is a classic that I think is so fun to watch with friends! Watching old scary movies is such a different experience from watching the more recent ones, and I think the older the movie, the scarier it can be.
11. "Ghostbusters." I mean... do I need to say more about this one?
