Why Best Friends Are Important

Everyone has that one friend they can tell anything and everything to. They know all the dirt about us, but still loves who we are as a person.

1. They Know Too Much

My best friend knows way too much about me to ever allow us to not be friends. There are lots of secrets that only those best friends know and lots of crazy memories. Only my best friend could bring up something from the past that will have me laughing for days. Basically, my best friend has more than enough dirt to blackmail me.

2. Friends For Over 12 Years

So much time has passed, and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else beside me throughout all of the experiences. There’s a saying that if you’re friends for over seven years, then you’re going to be best friends for life. Even being 63 miles away at different colleges, she never fails to still be there for me when I need it the most.

3. The Only Person I Trust

There is no one else that I would confide in other than my best friend. They know more about me than anyone else on this planet and I’m okay with that. They always have your best interest in mind. They care about you and only want what is best, even if they get mad that you’re texting that one boy who doesn’t deserve you again. No matter how many times they yell at you, they just want you to be happy and they continually tell you over and over again.

4. Knows Me Better Than I Know Myself

Whether it’s little motivation texts when you need them the most or even little inside jokes, they’re always there at the right time. Even driving in the car and they play the song that you wanted to hear, but just couldn’t think of the title. Or shopping at TJ-Maxx and they find a super cute top that they know you will love. They can always tell when you’re in a bad mood before you even talk to them

5. My Person

Who else would take their time to drive around eating cheap breadsticks while listening to break up songs from the early 2000s with you? Who else would have 4 am phone calls because you can’t stand being alone for much longer. And it always seems that the two of you are always going through the exact same things at the exact time; always floating in the same boat!

Through it all, you both continue to support each other, and that’s true friendship. So thank you to my best friend for everything you do!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
