Dear My Best Friend's Family,
First of all, you guys are absolutely amazing. I have only known you now for about a year and you are all so accepting of me. It feels like I have known all of you for my entire life. I know that I could go to you with anything and you would be more than willing to help me. You have helped me with a number of things and I know that I will never be able to repay you for anything that you have done for me. That doesn't mean I won't try to, though!
In March, when you guys barely knew me, you let me stay with you over Spring Break. It was one of the greatest vacations I have ever had and you guys were so welcoming. Even though I decided to spend my Spring Break away from home, it was still like I was at home. You guys made me feel so at ease and I was able to actually relax, just like I would have if I was at home. Your home is like my home away from home and I love that it is like that. I wouldn't want it any other way.
In May, you guys found out about the Cystic Fibrosis walk that I was doing. You knew that Abbagail, my niece, had CF and that I was raising money to help her. You graciously donated $100 because you knew how much it would mean to me. You also knew that it was a great cause! That is probably one of the greatest things anyone has ever done for me and I can never thank you enough for that. You are also constantly asking about my niece and how she is doing and I do not think you know how much that means to me.
In June, you guys helped me find my dog. You all knew that I had been thinking about getting a dog to become my emotional support animal. None of you judged me for that and you never made me feel like having an emotional support animal made me weird. You not only helped me find my dog, but you also kept him for the rest of the summer until we moved into our dorm in August. I can never repay you guys for doing that for me. Without you, I would not have my dog right now and he is one of my greatest blessings. He helps me with so much and brings me so much joy, even if he does annoy me at times.
June is also when your daughter asked me to go to Disney World with you this summer and I could not be more excited. I have never really been anywhere like that and I was so grateful that you guys decided to invite me! I know that it is going to be one of my favorite memories and I am going to have an amazing time. You also took the time to call and make sure that the restaurants were really careful about allergens in their food. That is another thing, you are so supportive of my food allergy and the fact that I struggle with it at times. I know that it is hard for people to understand why it makes me so nervous, but you guys understand without me having to explain it to you.
You all have also graciously let me attend a lot of your parties. But I promise that I come up there for more than just the parties!! I know that there are more ways that you have helped me, but it is hard to list them all. Every single one of you is so welcoming every time that I am up there. There has never been a time where I have felt unwelcome or out of place at your house. Even though you live four hours away from me, I know that if I needed you I could just pick up the phone and you would answer. You guys are some of the nicest and gracious people I have ever met. I can honestly say that my best friend is lucky to have you as her family. I know that I am so grateful to have each and every one of you in my life. I hope that you are all apart of my life forever.
Love,
Your Daughter's Best Friend
