10 Thoughts You Have When Your BFF Gets Engaged

It's something that you look forward to almost as much as your own engagement, it's your best friend's engagement. It's something that you just know will happen when its time. It fills you with such overwhelming joy because you know that your best friend deserves all the happiness in the world. It happened to my best friend and I could not be happier for her!

1. "Omg omg omg it finally happened"

This is the initial response when you get the facetime call from your best friend showing you the ring.

2. "Okay time to start planning “

Yes, it's literally been like 30 seconds but you're already breaking out the Pinterest board.

3. “Okay now I have to keep this a secret"

They haven't made the big Facebook announcement yet, so you're just sitting quietly waiting for it so you can tell the world.

4. “Time to unleash the comments"

The Facebook post was finally made, so now time to write “my best friend is engaged" on every post.

5. “Why is everyone texting me"

You got all the texts when the posts hit social media, everyone asking if you knew, of course, I knew. But you are so happy for them that you text everyone back with “I'M SO EXCITED!"

6. “I cannot make any plans until I know the date"

This is a wedding that you would not miss for the world. So, until the date is picked you refuse to make any plans that may interfere with it.

7. “Time to send her my ideas"

Yes, it's your best friend's wedding but you know her just as well as you know yourself. So, you start sending her all the ideas you have, even though it's only been like two days.

8. “Yeah, my best friend is engaged"

You find yourself telling everyone this, you are just so happy that you can't contain it.

9. “I can't wait for the wedding"

This is the wedding that your most looking forward to other than your own. You cannot wait until the big day arrives. You're so excited to help with the planning to make sure that the day is perfect.

10. “I wonder if I'll be next?"

I mean come on, it's a real question.

Your best friend getting engaged is one of the happiest moments and to be able to stand next to her to celebrate it is amazing. So, cherish all the moments with her and make sure that her wedding is perfect. And then get ready for to do it all again when you get engaged and she's there by your side.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
