Need an upgrade on your makeup collection but don't want to empty your wallet? Don't fret. There are a ton of makeup products that work wonders that won't cost you a fortune. While it's usually true that you get what you pay for, these products are definitely exceptions. One of my favorite makeup artists, Kaylee Bull, created the look above using mostly drugstore products! Follow her Youtube channel here and her Instagram here.
1. NYX Suede Matte Lip Liner - $4
This lip liner is the perfect secret weapon to the velvety, matte lip that everyone wants to achieve. It can be paired perfectly with any NYX matte lipsticks - the liner comes in 36 shades. Kaylee likes to pair it with NYX gloss. The best thing about the liner is that it goes on so smooth that it could be worn by itself!
2. e.l.f. Eyebrow Kit - $3
A friend of mine once called this my "fleeky eyebrow kit" and I think that sums up my love for this product. It's a huge step up from your run-of-the-mill eyebrow pencil. It comes with gel, powder and a two sided brush. It comes in four different colors and it works on all eyebrow types - especially if you naturally have really light and thin brows like I do. For the best possible precision, I would pair with this eyebrow brush. It's available on elfcosmetics.com (which has free shipping on orders over $25!), but if you'd rather buy it in stores, it's available at Target and Old Navy.
3. ColourPop Super Shock Shadow - $4-5
4. Milani Baked Blush - $8
Milani's Baked Blushes are super pigmented and shimmery and are available at Target and most drugstores. It comes in 11 colors, and Dolce Pink is very similar to this cult favorite from NARS for about a quarter of the price. You really can't beat it.
5. Nyx Liquid Crystal Liner - $4.49
I have this in gold and gunmetal and I wear them all the time. It's super easy to use to glam up an everyday look. It's perfect to wear plain or over black eyeliner. The glitter is very pigmented and it stays on all day. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear it!
6. Maybelline Eye Studio Master Precise Eyeliner - $5.99
This liner glides on smoothly and makes precise wing liner easy. And the tip doesn't dry out, which is super important. It's available at Walmart, Target, CVS, you name it!
7. Sonia Kashuk Satin Luxe Lip Color - $9.99
Lipstick is what I splurge on most often. Even though I have a serious Kylie Cosmetics obsession, I haven't been able to find a high-end satin lipstick that measures up to Sonia Kashuk's. You can't go wrong with any of the colors. They last all day and feel super smooth on your lips. My favorite is Roseberry - it's darker and cooler toned than a classic red, but it still goes with everything!
8. ColourPop Highlighter - $8
ColourPop is too good to only mention once. High-end highlighters are great, but I've gotten to where ColourPop highlighter is basically the only one I use. It takes a couple layers to build up, which is nice so it blends easily. The highlighter has the same clay texture as the eyeshadow, so there's no fallout. My favorite is Lunch Money because it works super well with my pale skin. Whichever shade you choose, you will fall in love with!
9. Flutter Lashes in Provocative - $9.95
These lashes are Kaylee's favorite! The lashes go up to $39.95, but their cheaper ones are still incredible. They look super natural so if you don't use false lashes often, you'll feel confident in them! And there is free shipping on orders over $14.95. What's not to love?
10. Morphe Brushes - $3.99+
Almost every makeup artist that I know of swears by these brushes. They're seriously the best. They come in every shape you can think of and can be used for so many things. They have a ton of bundles for as low as $13.99 - which would make each brush in the bundle about $1 a piece! Even though Morphe is mostly known for their brushes, they sell great makeup too, like this popular palette with 35 shades.
