Dead week is just around the corner and some of you might be looking for a new place to study or a new drink to receive that charge of caffeine. Coffee shops are the best place to obtain both of these objectives because they can encompass the best studying and caffeinated atmosphere. The calming coffee scents stimulate productivity and the baristas create the perfect background noise that doesn’t overpower your concentration. So here are five places to stop in, grab some coffee and help you pass all your finals.
5. Hardback Coffee Café
There’s tons of coupons on their Facebook
page if you need to save some money for the holiday season! This place is located at 24th and
Main Street and is known for their unique drink combinations and friendly
staff. If you go, you have to try their famous
Cotton Candy Frappe!
4. Michelangelo’s Coffee & Wine Bar
Whether you want a place
to study or a place to unwind after a long week, Michelangelo’s has you
covered. They have the usual calm
studying atmosphere during the day but some nights they hold live music and
customers over 21 can enjoy a glass of wine. The little chocolates they offer are solely worth the trip.
3. Crimson & Whipped Cream
A gourmet bakery located on Campus
Corner that carries locally roasted coffee! You won’t be able to resist getting some of their baked goodies too. The menu changes daily so you never know what
you could get. Go in and try the Café Au
Lait in one of their adorable mason jars.
2. Second Wind Coffeehouse
Also on Campus Corner this coffeehouse
is a non-profit that takes donations for their coffee instead of having set
prices. It also serves distinctive drink
choices like “Dante’s Inferno”, which is espresso with cayenne, chocolate,
caramel, steamed milk and whipped cream. Or the “Little Havana” that holds a Cubano shot over sugar with half and
half. This would also be a great place
to hold study groups.
1. Gray Owl Coffee
Hands down the best coffee shop in
Norman. They’re open late every night
and have the best atmosphere with vintage decorations and bikes hanging from
the ceiling. However, be weary, if you’re
used to only drinking watered down Starbucks coffee you will be in for quite
the surprise. This place offers REAL
coffee that might taste bitter to non-coffee enthusiasts. The only thing that might be a problem is
that it can be tough to get a table, but whether you come early in the morning,
middle of the afternoon or late in the evening, this place is a magical study
spot.
