There are a lot of social media platforms to stay informed and stay connected. In today's day and age, it's hard to become unplugged but somehow, it is pretty easy to stay uninformed. I try my best to stay current in life. Whether it be current events, current gossip, current music or current films — the newer, the more interesting. With everything moving so quickly, it's important to have constant contact to the ever-changing. How am I supposed to do that, my mom asks me when I ask her if she saw what President Trump did this morning, and caught the newest news about TGIT this week. I understand that sometimes it's hard to stay current and stay informed however, I have a simple answer for her most of the time, Twitter, Mom.

The little blue bird icon on your phone screen can keep you incredibly in the know. Other social media platforms are great, don't get me wrong. Instagram? I'm addicted. Facebook? On it all the time. Pinterest? Not really my thing, but to each their own. Nevertheless, regardless of what platform is your thing, I firmly believe, everyone should be on Twitter. This being said, the following are my 5 best arguments why everyone (yes, even your mom) should have a Twitter.

1. It keeps you up to date on the news.

Who got that Oscar nomination? Which Williams sister won the Australian Open? What executive order did President Trump sign today? Check it all out on your Explore panel.

2. It helps you connect with people who care about what you care about all over the world.

Want to stand in solidarity with those around the world? Tweet about it. #brussels

3. It lets you talk to those with major power behind their voice.

Upset with the GOP's lack of replacement for Obamacare? Tweet your Representatives!

4. It gets you connected with those responsible for creating your favorite shows.

Live tweet with the cast and crew of your favorite shows. Find out what's happening next week on #SweetVicious

5. It's fun & comical.

Especially if you follow Chrissy Teigen. She's actually hilarious.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
