Choosing a college to attend is one of the hardest decisions a person can make. One of the number one factors though is the location. No one wants to attend a college in the middle of nowhere with no mall or restaurants around them. Florida is an excellent choice due to the numerous attractions in the nearby area such as Miami, Orlando, a plethora of malls and most importantly, the proximity to the beach.
Living in South Florida leaves you in the middle of numerous different places. There's Miami, better known as South Beach, where everything is over the top. If you want rich and famous, then head to Miami. There's every type of restaurant you can imagine, and it's full of Spanish culture. Some places to visit would be : the Fontainebleau, a hotel located in South Beach that is known for the luxury it inhibits, a hotspot for celebrities, and it's night club LIV; the Wynwood Walls, a colorful array of graffiti and street art located in Miami's art district and perfect for pictures; the Miami Zoo or the Miami Seaquarium, if you are in the mood to see some animals; Bayside Market Place, a great spot for shopping or eating right on the intercostal; the American Airlines Arena, if you want to see your favorite artist play; and, the best destination, the beach.
Another great town to visit is Delray Beach, voted the cutest town in America. Located right on Atlantic Avenue, Delray is home to numerous restaurants, shops, and of course the beach, ensuring that you will never get bored. With three hotels, the Marriott, the Residence Inn, and the Seagate, right by the beach, you'll always have a place to stay. There's also a list of numerous restaurants. Some casual restaurants include: Boston's, Luigi's, Mellow Mushroom, the Blue Anchor, Bru's Room, and Burger Fi. For a more luxurious place there is: Buddha's Sky Bar, Boheme Bistro, Joseph's, Lemongrass, and Prime just to name a few. Also, all of these places are within a mile or 2 of the beach. If visiting here, no car is required because you can walk everywhere.
Another great town located within 2-4 hours of South Florida is Orlando, which is home to many theme parks such as Disney World, Universal, Island of Adventures, Lego Land, and Sea World. It is also home to International Drive, which is filled with every restaurant you can imagine. Orlando also offers helicopter rides. Also, Orlando has a huge outlet mall that is host to amazing sales for all you shoppers out there. With all this, you will never get bored in Orlando.
By going to college in South Florida, you are in proximity to all these amazing towns, and these are not even close to all of them. Also, you are probably always within a half hour from the beach, which is always a plus. South Florida is a postcard type of city. Once you can experience it yourself, you'll love it, too.
