First of all, Belo Horizonte is one of the biggest cities in Brazil. It is the capital of Minas Gerais state. I am from this wonderful place, and I would not change anything in this city during those 18 years I've lived there.

There is a huge and beautiful soccer stadium called Mineirão. Several important soccer games have happened there including a few World Cup games. Also, several amazing concerts took place around the stadium. Music concerts such as Linkin Park and Maroon 5 have even happened there.

There is a huge area around, where people go there to ride their bikes, skateboards and rollers. I used to skateboard there, and it was so much fun.

There is a huge lake near to Mineirão. It is called Lagoa da Pampulha. Pampulha is the neighborhood's name. There is no way to swim in this lake because it is polluted, but people really enjoy running, and riding bikes around it. It is a 12-mile lake, and there is always something nice to do around it. There are several food trucks where you can get some delicious Brazilian food. There are also several restaurants where you can find good food, coconut water and any kind of drink. It is a great place to exercise your body, and spend time with people you like. It has just been considered by UNESCO humanity's cultural heritage.

There are several clubs where people can go out to dance, drink and hang out with their friends. There are also bars with live music playing where you can have a couple drinks and eat. It is a good way to get to know new people and enjoy your free time.

There is an awesome event that happens every Sunday in Belo Horizonte's downtown. It is called Duelo de Mc's. This is a event similar to rhyme battles, but instead of only having the battles, there are a few concerts before it. Those concerts are performed by singers who are aiming to expose their ideas through the music.

During the battles, the MCs show to the audience that they can freestyle well enough to win the battle. They are very smart people that have the ability to use the right words, respect the opponent and be smart enough to make everything rhyme.

There are several beautiful parks and squares that I love. Praça da Liberdade, Praça do Papa are my favorite squares in Belo Horizonte. Concerts take place in these squares. People go there to hang out, practice slackline and practice sports.

The Praça da Liberdade is surrounded by museums. Those museums mainly expose the history of the city and of the state. I have been to all of them and they are amazing. This is the link to their website: http://circuitoculturalliberdade.com.br/plus/

The Praça do Papa is located in a very high place. There is a wonderful view. It is a very quiet and cozy place. I love to go there and spend time with my friends.

Those are some of my favorite places in my city.

I might tell as well that I have met almost all of the most important people of my life in this city. I have a strong connection with Belo Horizonte. Therefore, besides all those great places, there are wonderful people in this city.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
