Don't Make Getting Into A Relationship Your Biggest Priority In College

Through our entire life, relationships are a huge aspect of who we are.

Sometimes it's too much of who we are or who people think we are. You might be so and so's boyfriend or girlfriend, and that's really what people think of you. Maybe you're known as the person who hasn't dated enough or has dated 'too' much. Either way, sometimes a relationship defines you more than you thought it would.

Relationships and love are constantly thrown at us when it comes to movies and how you will be happy when you finally find your happily ever after. The Princess always finds the Prince, the long lost lovers always reunite, and your best friend always turns into more than that. We grow up wanting something like that, and I don't blame us.

Then comes the start of college and maybe even late high school. People start to get into serious relationships. Some have babies and others are actually getting married. Because of that some people feel pressured to get into a relationship. I know I definitely have felt the pressure, and until I actually get into a serious relationship I don't think I ever really will stop hearing about how I "need" a boyfriend.

Now, when it comes to me personally I don't feel the need to date just because someone tells me that I should or society says I should be engaged by now. I'm in college and I barely even have my major figured out, so I don't think I could figure out a relationship or what our future holds.

It's okay to wait. It's okay not to have an engagement in the works or a serious relationship at the age of 20 or whatever age you're at right now. You have a long life ahead of you, and a lot of twists and turns to get around before finally settling down. As a college kid who's single, I'm enjoying going on trips with friends and still figuring out what I do and don't like. I enjoy not being very serious and honestly just enjoying what I have right now. Being single is a good thing when you really truly want it to be, and you don't have to feel sorry for yourself.

Through reading this article, I really hope that anyone struggling finds peace because you're not alone. There are a lot of single people out there wondering if they should be in a relationship, but it'd your life. Live your life the way you want to.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
