When I say "I'm a Biology major", I get the repetitive reaction of "Oh My God, You brave soul, You're brave to take that on." Other people believe that we choose a general degree that was simple. That's false. The majority of biology majors on college campuses are on the track to go to medical. That means sacrificing our weekends downtown with our friends to get through homework and lab reports. So if you're thinking about picking this major or have your own opinion about what it is, let me tell you what an average biology major's semester looks like.
1. Syllabus week is "week one of course work"
2. Your textbook is The Bible.
3. The library is the only nightclub you go to every night.
4. A "C" on anything is considered an "F".
5. Chemistry/Organic Chemistry is the bane of your existence.
6. We develop a heavy addiction to Starbucks Iced Coffee
7.Getting a full four hours of sleep sounds like Mission Impossible
8. Lab lasts until an hour after class was suppose to be over.
9. You and your fellow classmates come in clutch on online quizzes.
10. Your professor sees curving grades as stupid.
11. You have a mini heart attack when your professor posts a grade on anything.
12. Your brain is on a loop of definitions.
13. You get irritated when your friends complain about their regular science courses.
14. You contimplate dropping out every time you get your test grade back.
But it's all worth it for that degree.
