Dear Ag Shop – Everyone Who Has Ever Stepped into Your Doors Has Been Forever Changed Because of the Environment We Get to Enjoy with Amazing Speical Ag Teachers Now Everyone in The National FFA Organization Has That one Special FFA Jacket That Means So Much To the Person Wearing It And We all have to Take That Wonderful FFA Jacket Off at The End of Our Amazing Journey Wethier it Be at State Convention or After your Last FFA Banquet or Just at Home We all Have to Unzip That Jacket. The Jacket Has Seen Us Grow It’s Seen Us Cry and Even Run it’s felt like a part of Your Soul It’s Seen You Struggle to find the Right Words to say. It’s Seen you deliver Top Notch Speech’s and Still Bring Home 3rd Place Everytime But That Jacket Will never forget The Person Who Wore it With Pride and joy Even in the Hard moments and even though the weather its been there for Everyone of your milestones and Small Steps Towards Something Bigger and better. This Jacket not only has been Rained on but it’s Got Sweaty Hands in its Pockets And Memories in every Pocket and Even though it has been Through Heat Sicknesses it’s Like Brand new.
It Holds up to Anything life Can Throw at it and it will Never Be The Same FFA Jacket without you. Anyone off the street can say that it’s easy to Take off a Simple Jacket without Tears in your Eyes But It’s definitely not easy to do with or without Help It’s Been said that no matter what Your FFA Jacket Will Have a good Story to Share with those who took of their FFA Jackets for The Final Time or Your a Freshman Who Just Got Their Very First FFA Jacket.
First of all I Would like to Say Congratulations on your New Adventure… Freshman What Can I Say or Where Do I Start Treat your FFA Jacket Like it’s Valuable Because in the long run over your Next Few Years It Will Teach You Valuable Lessons in Agriculture and in Life Treat Your Jacket Like you would like to be… And enjoy the ride because your Ride will end in a Few Very Short Years Take it as a Privilege to be a part of something larger than yourself and Find Something your Passionate About. For Me I Found my Passion and love for The FFA Organization Because I fell in love with the Atmosphere and the People Who We Call Ag Teachers and FFA Advisors Because of the Words FFA my life will never be the same. Because of those amazing Inspiring People Who have Such a beautiful experience with all the strength and courage to do what they do on a daily basis Ag Teachers Don’t Get Paid Enough For all that They Do So Continue to Thank Them for all they do not only for you but for others as well. Not Every Moment in The FFA Jacket No Matter what Is Always or Never has been Perfect. But there are definitely some Wonderful People and Moments that make you happy to be a FFA Jacket Wearing Individuals. I thought I would share the moment that I got my very First FFA Jacket with Colorado and Chapter on my Back and my Name on The Front. Every FFA Member Knows the True Excitement of Putting on and zipping up their very own FFA Jacket It’s a Felling Like No other Every FFA Member has a different way of Explaining it to someone else but For me Personally Zipping up that Special FFA Jacket I had so many Emotions going through my head While I was thinking about my Future and the Amazing Adventures I would go on Little did I know that this Simple Special FFA Jacket Would Change my life but not only that But that It would Change My Future Plans Such as a Career Path. Everyone has different Dreams and goals and that’s part of your amazing beautiful journey not only in FFA But in Life For Me I Wanted to be a neonatal Nurse because I had to go through the Same Thing Most Premature Little Babies and I Love Babies But That was before I Got Involved in the National FFA Organization. I don’t know if I have any more Happy Masterpiece Moments or not but here is one more Masterpiece Happy Moment I was Headed to compete in my Very First FFA CDE In the small Little Town of Prichett I was very Excited about this wonderful experience but little did I know that my life would be Changed Forever By My 2 Favorite Ag Teachers Ever Just so you know this was my Freshman year and no our Chapter isn’t big enough to have two Ag teachers in the same Program but These 2 Ag Teachers have taught me to walk into a room with confidence in myself and to Never be Satisfied with my Defeat and to always Work Towards The Greatness And To be Humble about Winning and be greatful for losing even though I didn’t like the feeling of Defeat I Had to Learn to Except it and learn from my Mistakes.
So I Owe You A Whole Lot and I Wanted To say Thank you To The Ag Shop that has been there When I Needed To Let Go of What Was Holding me Back.
Thank you for putting up with me for those first years as you helped me finally find a place where I belonged. I have never been much for sports so getting to Be apart of the Greatest FFA Chapter Meant The World To Me. Thank you for making sure that I stood tall even in those moments of defeat though. And thank you for reminding me that the person who won was in the same uniform as me, so we were teammates and family and I still owed them a sincere congratulations.
Whether it was the confidence you gave me that saved my broken heart from a pointed and harsh word or the morals associated with you that I carried beside me when making a decision you kept me safe. The friends I made because of you also did a lot for my safety and sanity so thank you for that. Thank you for being with me. On the best and worst days of my life. Thank you finally for the gifts you gave me. You allowed me to walk into a room confident and wise. You gave me the desire to pursue my chosen career path. You allowed my teammates to become my siblings and strangers to become my best friends. You gave me a thousand memories in the forms of songs, smells, sights and pictures. Most People Get asked Once they Graduate from High School What’s Next? Most People Say College and they Say What For That Answer Is always different for most People Especially People Who Haven’t Had An Ag Education Class in High School or For that Matter Ever at all. One HUGE misconception about FFA and agriculture in general is that it’s all farming. As we like to say, it’s not all sows, cows, and plows.
There isn’t a place where you will meet more motivated and hardworking young adults. The FFA has produced thousands of successful individuals that have come for many different walks of life. These individuals are currently out there positively impacting the world.

There are defining moments in one’s life when you learn about yourself, and you deposit that knowledge in the experience account, so you can draw on it at some later date Life is full of those defining moments when the things that happen to us or the decisions and choices we make have either positive or negative far reaching consequences for ourselves and others.
We can all remember those wises choices which seemingly changed the course of our lives and also those mistakes we have made. Defining moments are not trivial. They forever alter our lives. Romans 15:4 ‘For everything that was written in the past was to teach us so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scripture we might have hope’. Our lives are made up of years, weeks and days; yet each and every one of these measures of time is comprised of mere moments — life changing, life shaping, life defining moments. Frozen in time moments that offer us insight, inspiration and ideas that can make our lives everything we have ever hoped they could be and more.
Whether we embrace these fleeting moments or instead allow them to pass us by in large measure fashions the lives we get to live; literally making or breaking us in the process. Far too often we allow a lifetime of moments to slip away, never once realizing what could have been or what we could have accomplished.
