Most of us have been through it, but if you haven't, consider yourself lucky. Getting over a breakup is downright dreadful. At this point, you've either done one of two things: drank away your feelings, or found something unhealthy to fill the void in your life. But in order to be truly content, neither alternative is essential to contribute to your happiness. As challenging as it may be, you will get through it, and I guarantee it will get easier.

Channel your energy into a hobby or activity that you enjoy.

Remember that "out-on-a-limb" bodycon dress you bought online a few months ago? And how you kept reminding yourself to start working out so you could finally wear it? Instead of putting off the gym any longer, put on your Norts and oversized t-shirt and get there. Instead of indulging with a bottle of wine and thinking about how you can get back at him, get on the treadmill and run until you can't anymore.

Remember those who are, and will always be, there for you.

Whether it be your best friends, your roommates, your sorority sisters, or your family, those people have probably told you (numerous times) that they have your back. They are your "go-to's," your right hands. So instead of bottling up your emotions and keeping your feelings to yourself, call them up and tell them how you feel. And although they might have nothing to say, they will always listen. You never have to go through anything alone.

Don't dwell on your past.

You have an entire life ahead of you. Each day is precious, and you have no time to think about your past. Not only is it unhealthy, but it's only hurting you more. Focus on all of the great things you have going for yourself, and strive to be a better person in those things. There are always things that come up in our lives to haunt us. But it's how we deal with these things that affect our future.

Take the time to read your Bible.

Not everyone may choose this outlet as a way to be inspired or fulfilled. But as a personal choice, I turn to the Bible. Reading a few chapters help to assure me that there is so much more out there. It's amazing how certain verses captivate me. It may not be laid out in front of you, but God has a plan. He has perfect timing and will give you exactly what you need exactly when you need it.

Realize that you are not perfect, and it’s okay not to be okay.

It's easy to want to blame yourself for every mistake in your past relationships. But, remember that feeling the way you do is completely normal. No Facebook post or "Cosmo" article can tell you how you should feel. You are a human, and like the wise Hannah Montana once said, nobody is perfect. Instead of taking the fault for things no longer in your control, take it into your hands to learn from each mistake.

You are beautiful, and you don't need someone else to bring you down. You have memories from what was once a beautiful relationship. But you were put on this earth for a reason. You bring something to the world that no one else does. You inspire others, and you make others smile. You have the ability as an individual to be great, and you don't always need someone by your side to do so. It's with willpower and strength in order to do so. Don't let someone else tell you how to live your life or how to be happy.

Because you're better than that.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
