It's about that time. Memorial Day has passed and the hot summer air is creeping on in. Who cannot agree that life is MUCH better in the summer? You can now shed those winter blues that stuck with you all spring. While summer is approaching and you're breaking out your favorite pair of shorts, it's also nice to think about the best ways we can take care of our skin, hair and bodies during these hot time. Let's face it, heat can be draining. We all must pay an enormous amount of attention on the things that matter most- such as our health. These tips are here to guide you survive the heat and do so in a flawless manner!

GET YOUR H20.

...and no I don't mean the pool.

Dehydrating is real, and it happens fast. Spending hours on the beach soaking up the sun can do more than just give you a tan. While the nice cold beer seems like quite the option, make sure you have plenty of water flowing through your system. Constantly sweating will leave you dry and add in alcohol and you're in trouble. Staying hydrated not only at the beach but also on a daily basis will really help your energy level and your skin.

REN FLASH DEFENSE ANTI- POLLUTION MIST.

The next best thing after sunscreen.

REN recently came out with this innovative skincare product that protects your skin from harmful toxins in the air. If your a city slicker, you'll definitely want to keep this in your purse as you're taking a promenade.

WATERMELON.

But just not in the Beyonce sort of way...

Aside from it's delicious taste, watermelon can definitely help in the cooling down process on the beach. Watermelon is enriched with lycopene, an antioxidant which help protects your skin from sun damage. Bon Appetite!

IT'S A TEN- LEAVE IN FOR BLONDES.

Makes them boys go woohoo!

After a long day by the pool or on the beach, you'll definitely need It's A Ten leave in conditioner to help detangle and condition the ends of your hair. For me, I use the blonde edition because it really helps retain the blonde color. This stuff is magical, I dare you to try it!

SUN BUM SPF 50

and a little vitamin E.

Sun Bum is one of my favorite beach day hacks! It doesn't have a horrible odor like most sunscreens and it does a great job in not only protecting my skin, but also hydrating it! This perfect duo can take your average beach day to the top.

ELTA MD UV LIP BALM

Pucker them lips up!

I use many products from eltaMD but this is my favorite. Being a chapstick junkie comes in handy during the summer months especially on the beach. The water resistant and SPF combo will leave you with the best lips to kiss on the beach. Mwah!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
