I love, love, love makeup, but it gets expensive when you spend as much time shopping for it as I do. Finding ways to beat the system and score great products on the cheaper side has been a serious process of trial and error. Here are 11 products to use so you can paint for the gods without breaking the bank.

1. Ulta matte lipstick. It costs $8 and lasts the entire day, including meals.

2. Nyx lip liner. It works great paired with Ulta’s lipstick and costs $3.49.

3. Jergens Natural Glow self-tanner. Obviously this isn’t for everyone, but the application is super easy. As long as you wash your hands after using, you won’t end up with orange palms like you will with most self-tanners. Plus it only costs $9.99!

4. Nyx Beauty Balm. This is honestly is better than any liquid or cream foundation I’ve used and it moisturizes too! Definitely worth every penny of the $12.99 price tag.


5. If liquid foundation isn’t your thing, Nyx’s ‘Stay Matte But Not Flat’ powder foundation works just as well. It costs $9.99.

6. If you've really got to have a legit liquid foundation, The 'Stay Matte But Not Flat' liquid foundation is amazing as well. It goes for a bargain $7.49.

7. Eyebrows are super important, but products to keep them in line are expensive! At $7.99, Maybelline's EyeStudio Brow Precise Micro Pencil works just as well as any of the more expensive products I've used.

8. Eyeshadow can make or break a look, so let's leave the harsh blues and greens in the 80s where they belong. That said, Makeup Revolution has a 32 color eyeshadow palette for $15 called Fortune Favors the Brave.

9. Eyeshadow makes or breaks it, but mascara often completes a look. Nyx's Doll Eye mascara is my absolute favorite and costs $9.99.

10. Liquid eyeliner is a staple for me. Any time I'm putting on a full face of makeup, I put liquid eyeliner on my top lid to finish it off. Essence's liquid eyeliner pen is great and is only $2.99!

11. Contouring and highlighting are also essential steps in my makeup process. Palladio's contour and highlight crayon is my go to. At $11.99, how could it not be?
