So as some of you know, finding makeup that stays on through a busy day is a H-A-S-S-L-E. Fortunately, the online cosmetics brand "Beauty Bakerie" has got you covered.
They offer a huge assortment of creatively named and cruelty-free makeup, from "brow-nies" (eyebrow shading), to "eye-screams" (eye shadows), to "gelato" (some killer gel liners), to food-themed "lip whips" (the best liquid lipstick you can ever buy). The founder of the company, named Cashmere has been through a lot, and her mission is available to read on the BB website. She offers cosmetics that work with different skin tones, and although the lip whips are a little pricey ($20 each) I will swear by them that they are a godsend.
The lip whips are a little tricky to put on, but boy after they dry, they do not come off -- at all. You have to use coconut oil or makeup remover to gently scrub it off your lips. I've tested it by sleeping in, showering in, and horseback riding in a bright red lip whip, and it's only faded a bit around the innermost parts of my lips and never smeared onto my pillow, hand, or horse.
I haven't bought any of the other products on the site, but other websites like Buzzfeed, MyBeautyBunny, and BeautyGuru have given BeautyBakerie an enormous and enthusiastic thumbs up. Even the infamous site Reddit has a thread on the brand.
One of the bigger points they made was commenting on how well the colors work on POC. The selections are very vibrant and don't just blend in against dark skin, and it's definitely a worthwhile investment if you're someone who has a tough time finding a makeup brand that stands out, has bright colors, and won't wipe off the second you rub at your face.
Speaking of colors, BeautyBakerie has just about all of it. In the lip whips, they have colors that range from a tiramisu-colored tan to a gorgeous royal blue, bright teal, hunter green, hot pink, and red. The eye shadows come in very pigmented shades and have colors like pale green, light pink, dark purple, gold, etc, etc. You're never out of options with BeautyBakerie.
There's a newsletter you can sign up for, and with BB releasing new colors every few months, I'd recommend signing up. It gives you an inside scoop on the site's newest collections and colors, along with offers that are truly one of a kind.
BeautyBakerie is also in the works to develop a Beauty Box, which will probably resemble to Julep and Birchbox beauty boxes. There is also a little side blog that's reachable through the website (Cashmere went to the Met Gala!), so feel free to follow it. BB also offers free shipping on orders $50 or above, so get out there, buy some lip whips, and #GetCaughtCakin!
