If your spring break was anything like mine, you just lived one of the best weeks of your life.
There was food. There were friends. There was sunshine. And to top it all off, there was an incredible absence of responsibility.
It was everything I ever dreamed of....and now it's over.
Coming back to school was like being b*tch slapped by reality. Needless to say, I did little (ok, none) of my schoolwork over Spring Break. Do I feel guilty about it? Nah. But to put it into perspective for you, a spider literally crawled out from under my book bag when I picked it up.
There are a few things (other than the fact that I can't afford such luxuries) keeping me from dropping out and pretending my life is one big spring break. When you're sitting in class, flipping through Facebook pics of your spring break adventures and dreaming of better days, you should keep them in mind.
1. We're halfway there. Yes, my friends, it's true. The semester is halfway over and we're one week closer to summer/graduation.
2. It's only going up from here (the average temperature that is). Even though the weather is nowhere near as perfect as it was in the middle of the Caribbean, the days are now longer and there aren't any blizzards predicted for the near future. Always a plus.
3. You get to see your friends again. That is, if you didn't get to spend Spring Break with your friends from school. If you did, keep being sad because now you'll only be seeing your friends when you dig your way out from under that pile of work you put off all week.
4. VT Dining. West End is now back in your life. And the people rejoiced.
5. We're still halfway there. Halfway, people.
6. I personally miss my family like crazy when I'm at school. But, if you spent a little toooo much time with dear old mom and dad over break, you're now separated by multiple hours and a lot of miles.
7. Even though it's over, you now have a week's worth of memories. (Assuming you actually remember Spring Break, looking at you PCB). Basically, you've got new stories to tell and can finally retire the one's that everybody has heard about 600 times.
8. Half. Way.
