Why does the phrase "Follow your dreams" exist if all we do is judge and look down upon people when they do? Why is crushing someone else's dreams because they are not up to our "expectations" of OK? We are all searching for acceptance in one light or another.
Not everyone is fit to be a doctor or a lawyer, and that is totally fine. Every person has their own niche and we shouldn't pretend to be something we are not. Everyone has a different perception, different ambitions, dreams of different goals. There isn't a set blueprint of how your life has to go. Whatever makes your soul sing, do that.
A wise woman once told me, "All we get that is evidence of our lives is our headstone, and all we get engraved on that is: the day we are born, a dash, and the day we die. I'm just trying to make my dash mean something."
That vivid talk has stuck with me for months now.
So make your life into a great creation of everything you've ever wanted it to be. Do all the things on your bucket list. Travel and see the seven wonders of the world. Follow your bliss and don't let anyone put your dreams to rest. This is the only chance you get.
Maybe your timeline isn't matching up with where you planned to be. That's fine. It's never too late to start following your dreams. 30 isn't too late. 40 isn't too late. 50 isn't too late. It's only too late if you never start. Take your time and have fun getting where you're going.
What's important to you? What do you care about? What matters? Pursue that. Forget everything else.
