Killing Demons: 101

"It was like when someone didn't get their wish they would speak from a tongue that wasn't theirs."

After being injected with the infected serum also known as the flu shot, Mrs. Powercouple was forced awake from a nightmare that following night. Sitting in a cold sweat trying to tame her mind from wandering back into her dream from hell, she couldn't help but to think back to her childhood memories. "How did I defeat this at one point?!" She screamed in frustration. Forcing herself out of bed, she grabs a glass of water to clarify her thinking, then lays back down, this time with her feet up for circulation purposes. Thinking back to her childhood ways, she was able to paint a picture of what was able to cure her "scary dreams" back in the day.

Instinctively, in her first few nightmares she would run out of fear, then was brought back to consciousness through her death in the dream world. After being killed night after night she finally realized something. While you're asleep if you take a second to think outside of your fear you begin to notice that you are asleep, this gave her more control of her surroundings. For instance, after realizing it would all be over when she would awake, sparked an idea that if she thought hard enough she could make a pool appear and use it to drown herself back to reality.

Having her dreams in her control helped her sleep soundly at night but brought some of her fears into reality. Looking at her life from an outsider like she did in her dreams, revealed to her the demons in her everyday life. It was like when someone didn't get their wish they would speak from a tongue that wasn't theirs. A demon of hatred that would corrupt Mrs. P's veins as well, well everyone's in that matter. This sparked a thought in her 14 year-old mind, maybe if Mrs. Powercouple can fight off the demons in her dreams, she could take that knowledge back with her in reality.

Thinking back to the dream that changed the game for her nightmare experiences, she closed her eyes to help re-captivate the scene. Awakening in her memory portal, Mrs. P remembers being in a random creepy house. Dark of course, she began walking around in fear, seeing shadows from her peripheral while mocking sounds of laughter completely surrounded her. When a few members of her family appeared is when the demons revealed themselves fully. Coming in closer she stepped towards them pushing with all of her might in their direction creating a ball of light to form. After a few seconds of doing so Mrs. P screamed, "I HAVE THE BLOOD OF JESUS IN ME", and through the passion of her voice caused them to disappear.

Now in a clear confidant manner, Mrs. Powercouple closes her eyes and slips back into the state of unconsciousness, the state where dreams were made.....

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
