All is fair in love and reality TV, right?
There is no doubt that many of our favorite contestants over the years on "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" would agree, there are still some that seem to have taken that phrase a little too seriously. There has been plots, schemes, lies and betrayals -- but it has made for some pretty great primetime reality television in the process.
If we were really lucky, that contestant then ended up on one of the spin-off shows, "Bachelor in Paradise" and "Bachelor Pad." So in the spirit of the free-flowing, champagne, wine, roses and lots of drama, why don't we take a look back on the contestants that we loved to hate over the years -- and some that we just plain hated.
Chad "The Chad" Johnson
Season: "The Bachelorette," season 12, "Bachelor in Paradise," season 3
Moment of Infamy: Chad may be one of the fiercest villains in "Bachelor "history. He insulted JoJo many times, calling her "naggy." He threatened violence against most of the castmates, he told them that he would hunt them down. On night one of "Bachelor in Paradise," he threatened and insulted most of the cast, he then got thrown out of paradise. Chris Harrison told him that he had made paradise a level of hell.
Juan Pablo Galavis
Season: "The Bachelor," season 18
Moment of Infamy: We all need to take a moment and admire this man, because it is not easy to be the villain of your own season. He still did his best, he insisted that gay and bisexual men should never be chosen as
"The Bachelor "(he later apologized for the statement), how are we supposed to fall in love with that?
Justin "Rated R" Rego
Season: "The Bachelorette," season 6
Moment of Infamy: Justin, apparently misunderstood the premise of the show, he forgot to mention to Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky that he was in a long term relationship -- a fact that she later found out after his girlfriend called to warn her. His girlfriend also added that he had cheated on her. What a charmer.
Courtney Robertson
Season: "The Bachelor," season 16
Moment of Infamy: The model repeatedly stated, "I didn't come here to make friends," she later made that the title of her book. She did whatever it took to win Ben Flajnik's heart, including breaking rules, skinny-dipping and insulting the other contestants, she even got booed during the live reunion.
JJ Lane
Season: "The Bachelorette," season 11
Moment of Infamy: He was one half of the Brokeback Bachelor bromance, who told Amy Schemer during a stand-up challenge, "Sometimes, I feel like I'm too smart for, like, 90 percent of the audience" Amy's response was, "He's just missing like, charisma and humility and, like, a sense of humor." He certainly is not missing self-confidence.
Kalon McMahon
Season: "The Bachelorette," season 8
Moment of Infamy: Kalon referred to Emily Maynard's daughter as baggage, Maynard then went full on mama bear and sent him home immediately. In that moment, she proved that it is possible to prove that you are a jerk in just one word.
Michelle Money
Season: "The Bachelor," season 5
Moment of Infamy: There were rumors surrounding Michelle during her time on the show. Some were that she was a gold-digger, she was only interested in furthering her acting career and that she had an affair with NBA player Carlos Boozer. She was known for her constant scheming, pushiness, and aggressive behavior, resulting in her departure after she made a sexy beach photo shoot entirely too close for Brad Womack's comfort.
Vienna Girardi
Season: "The Bachelor," season 14
Moment of Infamy: Jake Pavelka's former fiancee spent most of her time on the show antagonizing and taunting the other contestants -- particularly the soon to be Bachelorette Ali -- and then attempted to play the victim. It worked in her favor for a little while... until the two broke off their engagement when Jake admitted that he could not trust her.
Rozlyn Papa
Season: "The Bachelor," season 14
Moment of Infamy: Jake seemed really interested in her, she was less interested in him. So, less interested that she was caught having an affair with one of the show's producers and booted for it.
Olivia Caridi
Season: "The Bachelor," season 20
Moment of Infamy: Olivia was one to watch from the beginning, she did get the First Impression Rose. She really earned the ire of her fellow castmates, when she said that Amanda's life sounded like an episode of Teen Mom, and that she found it hard to relate to the other girls because she just wanted to "talk smart things."
