With another Fall semester quickly approaching, Greek organizations across the nation are preparing for new incoming freshmen looking to go Greek. As an Odyssey writer, it is really great to see more and more people wanting to make the best decision of their young lives by deciding to go Greek in college. For this upcoming Fall, Odyssey at UCF wants to see which chapters across the nation are the best of the best with a recruitment video contest!

That's right! Do you have a recruitment video that's in the works for Fall semester? Do you want the entire Internet to see how your chapter is the greatest in the world? And do you want your chapter to be the best of the best? Well, you're in luck! Odyssey is here to help!

If you want to participate in this contest, I have listed the steps below! Also, see the examples that have caught our eye over the years!

  1. Make an awesome fraternity rush/sorority recruitment video for the upcoming term.
  2. Put it on YouTube or Vimeo and include the hashtags #GoGreek and #RushOdyssey in the captions.
  3. Send that video to my e-mail. Please include your organization's name and school. You can also send your videos to my Twitter account (@cmari1995) by including the #GoGreek and #RushOdyssey hashtags.

That's all you need to know! So go out, have fun, and make the greatest recruitment video! Check out these examples from previous years!

Fraternity Rush Video Examples:

1. Alpha Epsilon Pi (UCSB Spring 2014)

This video was just incredibly hilarious and hard to ignore, and on top of that, it was very, VERY creative.

2. Kappa Sigma (UCSB Fall 2014)

Short, simple, and yet, one of the most interesting rush videos on YouTube. Well done, Kappa Sig.

3. Delta Sigma Phi (ASU Spring 2015)

Excellent use of scenery, the interviews were kept simple, and the GoPro footage was on-point. All of this makes for a solid fraternity rush video.

Sorority Recruitment Video Examples:

1. Kappa Alpha Theta (UofA 2015)

This video makes me automatically assume that Theta is beautiful and badass. Two thumbs up ladies!

2. Delta Delta Delta (Indiana University 2014)

The two things that caught my eye in this video? Tri-Delt's use of brand recognition and that ridiculously nice house. When can I move in?

3. Delta Gamma (University of Oregon 2013)

I liked how natural they made this video look. It seems as if nothing was scripted, and it came out great!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
