A Thank You Letter To My High School

Without you I wouldn't be the person that I am today.

A Thank You Letter To My High School

To my home away from home,

To me, you weren't just an ugly old brick building with classrooms inside where I was forced to spend most of my time. You were the place where I had my first love, met life long friends, and made memories that I will never forget. Over fours year I got to know you like the back of my hand, and you were one of the few places that I always felt safe.

You are the place where I grew up. I've had some of the best days and some of the worst days with you, but each one of them made an impact. I would not be the person I am today if it wasn't for the roller coaster ride that was high school.

Thanks to you I met some of my best friends and people that completely changed my life. They are people I know that I will always be able to count on no matter what and I can be myself around without any judgment.

Thank you for giving me not only the best friends but the best teachers. While some gave me a hard time and made my life a living hell, there were some that I'll never forget. They helped me find my passion and what I wanted to do with my life.

Most of all, thank you for giving me all of the memories. I'll never forget the times we went to a football game during halftime a little bit tipsy or hanging out at public parks until the lights turned off because there was nowhere else for us to go. There were so many great memories made throughout my time in high school that will be impossible to forget.

It is always hard to stay goodbye, and I wouldn't be the person that I am today if it wasn't for my time with you. No matter where I am in life; I will always be thankful for high school and know that I'll always be a Hawk.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

The Importance Of Being A Good Person

An open letter to the good-hearted people.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
