Meet The House Guests of BB18
Big Brother Network

It’s that time of year again! My favorite time of year! Tuesday, June 14, the houseguests for “Big Brother” season 18 (BB18) were revealed. The house guest’s bios and introduction videos were supposed to be released June 13, but in light of the recent events that occurred in Orlando, CBS made the decision to postpone the reveal until Tuesday. On Tuesday, 12 houseguest were revealed, which is unusual because most seasons consist of 16 houseguests. This alluded to the fact that many “Big Brother” super fans were correct in predicting, that a veteran houseguest would return to the house for their chance to win the half-million dollar grand prize. For months, many names have been circulating of who the returning veterans would be and how they would be incorporated into the game. I myself have been advocating for my favorite houseguest, Zach Rance from BB16, to be re-established as a houseguest for BB18.

Originally, “Big Brother” fans thought producers were going to bring back the coaches twist from BB14. Although, some reliable spoiler sources discredited this twist. Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait until the season premiere on June 22 to find out who the veteran houseguest will be and how they will be incorporated into the game. Until then, expect the unexpected. Viewers will have to start placing their bets on the 12 fresh faced newbies. My first introduction to the rookies was their bios. Let me just say, I was seriously worried. I thought the house was going to be filled with floaters.

I gained more confidence in this new cast after watching their introduction interviews. With that being said, as soon as I finished watching them, I began ranking my favorites and making predictions.

First up, we have Bronte, an aspiring mathematician from San Diego, California.

To answer your question, yes, her answer for 9x9 was really 89. Despite her slight ditziness, she seems as if she has a pretty good strategy. She claims her strategy is to use behavioral science to manipulate people to her advantage. Bronte is a wild card. While I think Bronte could be a pretty decent player, I could also see her floating her way through the game.

Next, Paulie Calafiore from Howell, New Jersey.

Brother of BB16 runner-up Cody Calafiore.

Paulie wants to walk in his brother’s footsteps, except do one better by winning the whole game. Paulie has an advantage: he has strong connections to someone who lived the game, someone who has inside knowledge. While this is an advantage, this is also a strong disadvantage: it puts a target on his back. Paulie also said that he would not hide the fact that Cody is his brother, because they have matching tattoos of their last name on their ribs. None the less, I think Paulie is a strong force to be reckoned with. I think he will make it far, as long as he plays his cards right.

Then, Zakiyah, a preschool teacher from Charlotte, North Carolina.

Zakiyah makes it clear that she wants to use her flirting to her abilities and is not opposed to having a showmance this season. When asked what the downfall of her gameplay could be, she says her mouth could be an issue. I think Zakiyah will be a strong player in this game. I believe she has the knowledge to make it very far. While she seems very quiet and soft spoken in her interview, I have no doubt that she can speak up when it is needed.

Next is Glenn, a former police detective and pet groomer from Bronx, New York.

Glenn says he will do whatever it takes to win the grand prize. Like Zakiyah, he thinks his disadvantage could be his mouth. In his interview, he seems very outspoken and I believe he would have no problem putting someone in their place if they get under his skin, which could rub some people the wrong way and put a target on his back.

Meet Natalie, an event coordinator from Franklin Park, New Jersey.

Natalie’s goal for the show is to start an all girls alliance. This is a pretty good start, however, she says she wants a girl alliance that will play nice, which goes against pretty much everything “Big Brother.” Like Bronte, Natalie is a wild card. She has big goals for the game, and if she can follow through, she has a good chance of going far.

Following is Victor, a gym manager form Slidell, California.

In his bio, he says his motto is to, “Get my money, develop my body and get women.” Not off to a great start in many people’s books. He believes he has a triple threat and will dominate the physical and mental competitions. Being a physical threat in the game has proven to be a dangerous thing. Most houseguests want to get the physical threats out ASAP. I think Victor will flaunt his physical physique and will be targeted quickly.

Next up, Bridgette, a traveling nurse, from Ventura, California.

First thing I want to point out, is in her interview she says she is a really bad liar -- that is not a good sign for her. This could be her downfall for her gameplay. With that being said, if she lays low, she could potentially fly under the radar and make it relatively far. I don’t see her making it to the end, however. Unless she's a great mental player, she will not be a big threat within the game.

Jozea, a celebrity makeup artist from Los Angeles, California is the next houseguest we meet.

In his interview, he seems very coy about a lot of things Jeff tried to ask him. He is a new fan to the game, so he has a disadvantage compared to his fellow superfan houseguests. However, Jozea comes off confident in his interview, which is a good sign for him. I think his confidence will get him pretty far in the game. As long as his confidence doesn't turn into cockiness. I’m excited to see what his gameplay strategies are.

Next is Tiffany Rousso, a high school teacher from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.

Also, sister to BB17 houseguest and pro-poker player Vanessa Rousso.

In her interview, it was extremely difficult to get Tiffany to admit that she was Vanessa’s sister, even though they look extremely similar. When asked if she will hide the fact that Vanessa is her sister, she says she won’t lie about it if asked, but it’s not something she is going to voluntarily tell everyone. Thus far, Tiffany is my number one pick. I think she has a strong advantage because Vanessa had excellent strategy and has shared tips with her sister. However, to make it further than Vanessa, Tiffany is going to have to learn from Vanessa’s gameplay flaws (i.e. being too paranoid, playing too emotionally and making too many deals that could not be kept).

Then fans met Corey, a baseball coach from Dallas, Texas.

Corey thinks he can handle the stress and chaos of living in the “Big Brother” house because he currently lives with four roommates, and they always have people in and out of their house. Corey says that he might hold back on making some decisions in the BB game in order to be a good role model to the kids he coaches in baseball. Unless he makes connections to strong players that will carry him, he will give up his game quickly.

Next, Michelle, a nutritionist from Washington Township, Michigan.

Michelle looks like an exact replica of Nicole, a houseguest from BB16, who is also from Michigan. Michelle is a huge BB fan and has all the tools to make it extremely far in this game. Michelle has watched many seasons of “Big Brother” and even the international versions of the game. I can tell early on that Michelle will be a fan favorite, is personable and nice enough to make good connections/alliances with other houseguests.

Last, but not least, Paul, a clothing designer from Tarzana, California.

From the start, it is clear this guy is a very laid back, go with the flow guy. While I’m sure he would be thrilled if he won the grand prize, I don't think he will be upset if he doesn't. Paul is there to have a fun, memorable summer. I think he will be great entertainment and a fan favorite. Paul will stick around the house for a while because he’s likable, but I can't see him as a big enough threat to actually win.

With all that being said, all that’s left is to rank the houseguests.

1. Tiffany

2. Paulie

3. Zakiyah

4. Michelle

5. Jozea

6. Natalie

7. Paulie

8. Bronte

9. Bridgette

10. Glenn

11. Victor

12. Corey

Keep in mind, this ranking can change drastically once the veterans are announced, and once the game actually begins, but for now, Tiffany and Paulie are the frontrunners in my book. Tune in to the season premiere of "Big Brother" season 18 on June 22 at 8 p.m. (7 p.m. central time) on CBS.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
