Growing up, I have always found telenovelas very entertaining. The characters that I find most entertaining always seem to be the villains. I feel like those characters are the ones that give these shows life! Without these characters the telenovelas would not have the amount of attention they have received over the past years!

These are some characters that have become my favorite villains so far:

Leticia Calderón as Carlota Espinoza de los Monteros

En Nombre Del Amor (2009)

This woman was always frustrated and in a bad mood throughout the whole series. She didn’t care if she hurt her own family. She would go out of her way just to make her niece completely miserable. She also hated her sister and made her life hell. Stay away from people like Carlota!

Edith González as Joselyn Rivas Del Castillo

Mundo De Fieras (2006)

This woman was just a plain mess from the beginning of the novela. She blamed her husband for her son’s disability. She learned from Miriam’s, her mother, manipulative ways and began to use that against anyone who surrounded her. She had a daughter, Karen, from her first marriage and taught her how to be as manipulative and abusive as she is. She killed a few people and (SPOILER ALERT) in the finale she commits suicide since she would rather die than go to jail.

Diana Bracho as Gabriela Acevedo

Fuego En La Sangre (2008)

Gabriela was a really cold mother. She had three daughters who fell in love with three brothers who own a bakery. She makes it completely impossible for their relationships to prosper. She even falls in love with her oldest daughter’s ex-husband, Fernando! Fernando becomes Gabriela’s lover and soon they become accomplices in many crimes. In the end Fernando betrays Gabriela by burying her alive. Poor Gabriela.

Angelique Boyer as Teresa Chavez

Teresa (2010)

I would have to say Teresa is my favorite villain so far. She was actually both the protagonist and the antagonist in this novela. She was very smart and confident in herself. She new what she wanted and did whatever she could in order to reach her goals. She’s an ambitious girl, but that ambition drove her to do things her family was not proud of. She decided to leave the love of her life in order to choose a man that practically had everything. She used her charm and intelligence in order to become this man’s wife. She ends up taking his money and after her husband is practically homeless, she goes after his best friend and takes all of his money as well! Greedy much?

Angelique Boyer as Ana Leticia

Tres Veces Ana (2016)

Ana Leticia is a selfish and manipulative young woman. She loves to be the center of attention! She always wants her grandmother and her uncle to pay more attention to her than her sister Ana Laura. It seems like she has developed feelings for her uncle which is why she is so attached to him. She even kills off his fiance by pushing her off a construction site. Now that her uncle is dating someone new, she is trying to find ways to separate him from a new opportunity to fall in love again. Tres Veces Ana is currently airing on Univision, and I honestly can’t wait to see what drama she causes on the next episode!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
