Dear me,

Hey girl. Well, it is not just another semester, it is officially another year, 2017. It's your last semester, your eighth and final semester. You have dreaded, but more so looked forward, to this time of your life for the last four years since you received your ID back in 2013 with your lovely photograph (thank goodness for change).

It is crazy to believe that this is it, your last semester of your undergraduate degree of college: in this town, with these people, in this environment.

Last semester, you couldn't wait for it to come to an end. Surprisingly enough, it ended up being your hardest semester, but you managed and made it through even when you thought you couldn't. All of the late nights anxiously tossing and turning in bed, thinking of the million things you had to get done in the next 24 hours.

For the very first time in your life, you do not have a clear direct plan. You are taking a step onto fresh cut grass. You aren't just starting a new chapter, but rather a new book and the start of your grown up life.

You grew up, knowing that your elementary school days would turn into middle school, followed by high school and then college-your biggest decision thus far became what you want to do for the rest of your life, and what college you want to attend while endlessly studying your brains out.

Now, my darling, as you look forward, as you have all of your graduate school applications turned in, anxiously waiting to hear back, you have done the best that you can do. It is in God's hands now.

Throughout your last four years here, you have learned so much, but now, as your undergrad journey will soon transpire into strutting in your high heels and your cap and gown, you are able to reflect on a lot more than you ever realized.

All of your tears of frustration, the unforgettable sound of your alarm clock at the crack of dawn to bang out the rest of your paper, all of the dedication, hard work, and determination; all of the memories with your lifelong best friends will soon be wrapped up and rolled into a piece of paper in a few short months. Your diploma, with the name of your school, your major, your name, your graduation year, THIS piece of paper will forever be one of the most valuable pieces of paper that you have ever and will ever touch.

When you are out there chasing your dreams someday, and setting goals for yourself, or even when you are achieving those goals, life is going to throw bumps in the road. Just like in college, you will have stressful weeks, and you will have times when you feel as though you will never make it through a certain situation. But, YOU WILL. You will, because you did before. You have done it before, and you will do it again. Just when you thought you couldn't, God gave you the strength and reminded you that you could.

BUT, with all that being said, live for right now. Live for your last spring semester of college. Gain every little bit of wisdom, advice and knowledge from your amazing and inspiring professors, learn even more about yourself, open up your heart in these last few months to every possibility and every opportunity. Let God guide you, to your next destination. Let him have the say when you find out what schools you get into.

Lastly, do not be upset whatever the outcome may be. Wherever you are supposed to end up in your next chapter of life, you will.

Keep living life to the fullest and soak up all that it has to offer and always remember to leave a little sparkle wherever you go.

XOXO,

You

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
