An Open Thank You Letter To My Hero
MTH

Hero (n.)- a person who is admired for courage, outstanding achievement, or noble qualities. Everyone has a hero. Some one they love, respect, and look up to. Today I want to show my hero some much deserved love and gratitude.

First, a little about my hero. She is strong, and courageous. When she encounters danger, you'll never see fear. She stands up for herself, and she follows her heart. She walks proud, but is so humble. She has the most beautiful soul, and a pure heart. She is gentle, kind and protective. She has overcome so many obstacles in her life. She isn't always graceful, but that's part of what makes her so special. She isn't famous, but she's my world. She may not know it, but she's taught me a lot, and for that I could never thank her enough. She is my hero.

Thank you, my hero, for teaching me to love myself.

Thank you for never doubting my worth and always being there for me when I am down. You catch me when I start saying bad things about myself, and told me to always be positive towards myself. You always point out when I am doing well, and you show me all of the things about myself worth loving. You have self-confidence in areas I have lacked all my life, and I admire that about you. You aren't cocky, but you always love yourself. I hope to one day be as positive towards myself as you are toward yourself

Thank you for seeing the best in me when I couldn't see anything at all.

You've held me while I cried, and still thought I was beautiful. You've seen me at my worst, and stuck by me until I was my best. You always see the things I have that make me special, when I can only see what I am lacking. You are constantly building me up, and for that I am eternally grateful.

Thank you for always supporting me.

I know driving hours and hours to nearly all of my softball games and events I was a part of wasn't probably what you had in mind for your past year, but you did it anyway. And sending me to live 200 miles away probably wasn't exactly your first choice, but you knew how important school was to me. So, you let me go, and you came and saw me as often as you could. Thank you for never doubting how successful I could be, and for reminding me to have fun and not always take things so seriously.

Thank you for showing me strength and courage in a way I'd never seen it before.

You are truly the strongest person I know in everything that you have done and over come. I know it wasn't an easy journey for you, but I admire the person you are after it is all said and done. The strength of your heart is such a gift, and your bravery in the things you do leaves me in awe. Basically, you're a total badass, and I would totally stay by your side in a zombie apocalypse.

Thank mostly though, for just being you.

Thank you for never giving up, especially on me. You make me aspire to be a better person. Nobody, is perfect, but if I had to pick the person I love and look up to most it would be you. You should know by now that you are pretty dang awesome (at least in my eyes), and you continue to inspire me every day. The strength and beauty of your soul astound me. I am in awe of your resilience and your commitment to me, your family, and Your Father. I couldn't be more grateful that you were put in my life, and just in case you hadn't figured it out yet, you're my hero.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
