There aren't enough words to say thank you to my beautiful all-girls catholic high school. The two most important words in that sentence are girls and catholic. Going to school with no boys was the least of my problems, I could've cared less about having boys in my classes. No boys, no problems. My school also made sure of having a important relationship with God. I learned so much about myself while learning what my relationship with God is and where it stands. I went in knowing less than a handful of people and came out with 160+ plus sisters. My high school made me the person I am today, and I could not be more grateful.

1. Thank you for showing me tradition

From my first to final singing of the Alma Mater, to the freshman rose ceremony to the walk of the roses, I was a part of the beautiful traditions of this school. There's no feeling that can compare to the sound of over 700+ students and faculty and staff singing the Alma Mater and understanding and respecting each word, and that is truly an amazing feeling. The building itself has stood tall and mighty for 126 years. Walking up the stairs, you can see dents from all the former students' footprints in their surface.

2. Thank you for giving me friendship

This school showed me that I have a friend in every corner of this building. I knew I could walk into any classroom and walk right up and talk to them and have a full on conversation no questions asked. Whether it was a teacher or student I was never alone. Every year I found myself with a different group of friends, and that's okay. My friends ranged from freshman to seniors all 4 years. And to my teachers, thank you for listening and being my role models and showing me that in the end everything will work out.

3. Thank you for my diehard school spirit attitude

To welcoming the freshman, to my final spirit day (paws for pride) and constantly supporting the sports teams, thank you for showing me that kind of passion. No matter what happened I supported my school. I screamed and cheered till I couldn't anymore. Those spirit days took a whole year of planning, but when that day was over, there was nothing else to do but smile and say, "We had fun, didn't we?"

4. Thank you for giving me my relationship with God

Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible. but with God all things are possible," Matthew 19:26. Through the theology classes and retreats I learned that God is with me ever I go, he is there for me. I lead with God by my side, he was there for the heartaches and the celebrations. Without my school, God wouldn't be a part of my life, he led me in this direction and for that I am forever grateful.

Letting go of this school was the hardest thing for me to do. After 4 years, I made this place my home. I thought my graduation day would never come and I would be able to enjoy this place forever, But in the end, I had to go and they had more lucky girls waiting for this place to be their home, too. So, thank you for being my home away from home, and being the greatest treasure in my life.

And to the class of 2016, we might not have had it all together, but together we had it all. And although we are all miles apart each and everyone of us have this special place to call home.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
