Dear Whataburger,

There are some things a college kid simply can't get through a whole semester without. One of them is a late-night run to a golden, crispy, flaky, Honey Butter Chicken Biscuit. I'd like to thank you (and everyone working those late-night shifts) for providing that for us all. After 11 p.m., when the craving hits, my friends and I pile into my truck and pool together our cash for a taste of the buttery dream. It isn't just the biscuit (as good as that may be), it's the memories and friendships made because of it.

When I'm feeling the crappy-ness of the day, or frustrated with a project for class, I know I can take my stress to Whataburger and unload it on a combo meal #1. The late-night vibe of a roomy lobby and the hum of a soda machine are enough to keep a girl sane in the midst of despair. The orange and white theme contrast perfectly against the starry night sky. Booth, table, or a combination of the two are all equally appealing and comfortable. Am I romanticizing a fast food restaurant? Absolutely.

Can I also brag on the low prices? A college student is always going to feel the struggle of impending student loan doom, but Whataburger keeps things affordable. It's the perfect upgrade from ramen noodles, but it's not going to force you to live off of those noodles until the next paycheck. Let's be honest, a college student's paycheck isn't going to be all that much, anyway. I love this burger joint, because as soon as you walk in you can tell you're in a place that will totally accept your pocket change and bed-head as the usual. No judgement.

My friends and I feel more than comfortable strolling in or driving through in our dirty barn clothes or dressy party outfits. We hit up Whataburger after prom or before a sleepover and it never disappoints. Ever. Countless memories are made under those florescent lights, with every last one being something special. While it's totally possible my addiction and obsession with this place is because they are very sparingly placed in Arkansas (with exactly none in my county), I choose to believe it's because of the joy it has given me during my college experience. Shout out again to the awesome people who work late-night shifts and continually turn a blind eye to my dreary, pitiful condition every time I walk through those doors.

Thank you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
