This one is for you.

Yes, I'm talking about you.The person feeling trapped. The person just existing. The person not living life to the fullest. The person that needs a change but is too scared to make the change. The person letting others run their lives. The person doubting their abilities. The person settling.

Now that you know what I'm talking about, listen up. I have some words I'd like to share with you.

First, please keep a completely open mind while you read this. Don't start making excuses while skimming through this article. I really want you to know how limitless your life really is and can be. Don't let the voice of doubt interfere and say "Yeah whatever, as if, or not for me." A few minutes of your undivided attention is mainly what I'm asking for.

Life is scary. Change is scary. Uncertainty is scary. Fear of regret is scary. Want to know what else is scary? Scary movies; but most of us watch them anyways. If you're one of those people that don't watch scary movies because they give you nightmares (ME!), don't stop reading. This still pertains to you.

I know what its like to just wade through the waters of life and be "fine" instead of taking the chance of becoming and feeling "GREAT!!" by diving into the depths of the unknown. It's okay to play it safe, but sometimes you have to take that leap of faith to see what life is all about. Try to turn that fear into motivation. You will never regret trying the thing you really wanted, but you will regret not going for it.

Life is way too unpredictable and short to be complacent. It's bad enough if you let other people hold you back, but holding back yourself is almost even worse. If you don't reach far and tall for your dreams, then you will have no one to blame but yourself, and that's never fun. When an opportunity presents itself? Take it. If there is none? Make it.

That major you love and want to pursue, but are worried about what people will think? Declare it! Don't spend money, hard work, and time on obtaining a degree that you don't absolutely love.

That dream job you really want but don't think you have a chance at? Apply! Put yourself out there. Rejection may but scary, but regret is much worse. Be able to say that you tried, and that you didn't just let it slip away.

That place you want to visit? That college you want to transfer to? Go! Explore the world. Be somewhere that ignites the fire in you. Somewhere that makes every sunrise and sunset mean something special. You'll make it, you'll make friends, and you will be happier for it.

Remember the saying "YOLO?" Use it to take that leap of faith to go to that dream job interview or board that plane to your bucket-list destination. In the reality of it, the saying is not actually true. You only live once? Well some people don't live at all. Be someone that really truly lives. Don't merely exist. Everyone dies, but only some people really live.

As a Christian, I know that God has a plan for me. I know that these opportunities and ideas placed in my head aren't only created by me. He plays a part in it. No matter your religion or what you believe in, know that you will be okay. Be able to say "I did it. I accomplished my dreams." You are without boundaries or limits. The world is your canvas to paint however you like.

So? Go for it. Put your heart into it. Choose your destiny. You're in charge.

Sincerely,

The Girl Taking A Chance

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
