To Whom It May Concern,
First and foremost, I would like to thank you, even though that can never express how grateful I am for something so priceless. After years of English classes where instructors lead me to believe that my writing would always be less than satisfactory, this took me by complete surprise. No one has ever described my words as "insightful" or "smart." On your lifeless phone, you typed out a message that would bring some life and spark back into my mind by telling me to keep going. It kickstarted me by getting my creativity back on its feet. It may not have been a running start, but that's ok — it is not a race. Because of a little encouragement, you did not think twice about giving, I now truly and wholeheartedly believe I should not stop writing or making art just because it may not be seen. I guess that is the beauty of it.
I hope, that just as you said I would, I can look back after a few years and be proud of all that I have created. Not everything I create will be seen, and for once I have come to terms with that being perfectly okay. I do not need constant gratification from others; this isn't for them.
So, thank you, for the little that you said, but for all that it did for me. You may have thought nothing of it at the time, but I can assure you that you have changed my outlook on my writing for the better. Sometimes the smallest gestures have the biggest impacts, and I hope one day you realize all that yours has done for me.
Sincerely,
The one you believed in
