An Open Letter To The Overlooked Grandparent

I have no idea what I would do without my grandparents.

These people raised our parents to be the amazing people they are. These people may still be here. These people may be here in spirit. Either way, these people are such a big part in our lives that they are sometimes overlooked.

Your grandparents give you the chance to go on adventures that they took your parents on years ago. You get to experience an opportunity your parents may not remember. This is an amazing opportunity to get the chance to relive your parents' childhood.

Your grandparents give you a chance to have an inseparable bond with other family members. They are the glue that keeps your family whole. I could never thank my grandparents enough for doing this to my family. Thank you for being that glue.

Your grandparents have a huge impact on your life. You may not realize it, but they will always be your second home. They will always be part of your backbone. They will always be there to pick you up.

You may not notice this because you've been so used to your whole life, but take time to appreciate the time you have with these truly amazing people. You will grow up learning so much from them. They will teach you things you never thought you could learn.

Listen to their stories. Appreciate them. Thank them for the little things. Having your grandparents around is such a blessing; never forget that.
