Dear girls,
I am sure that you have heard that confidence is key, that you are beautiful or gorgeous, funny, sweet. The list of qualities goes on and on. I understand if what I am about to say might blow your mind because of how a past ex or a guy friend or a girl friend might have treated you but you beautiful, sweet, caring, kind, honest, smart, and the list goes on and on. On occasion growing up, I would always get asked who’s hotter out of these two women? My response would always be, “Well, I don’t think they’re hot…I think they’re beautiful for one thing and another thing is that all girls are beautiful.”(awkward sentence) To me, and I cannot stress this enough, I believe that all girls are beautiful, smart, kind, caring, and the list goes on. From a short, brown-eyed brunette to a polka dotted, blue-eyed blonde (if that’s even possible) you are all beautiful. I was raised to always be honest and kind. To use manners, do not cheat or lie, and most of all to treat girls like they are a princess, not only on national girlfriend day either.
Yes, ladies, believe it or not, there are still some guys out there in the world who love you for you and the pretend you. Once there was a girl who told me that she did not like her body and I told her that I do not care. Now before you get riled up, let me finish, I told her that I do not care because she does not have to be at “model weight” or be “model material” for me to like her and that I liked her for who she was and her personality. *Insert possible awwwweess here* You see ladies; you may go through heartbreaks or liars or cheaters but you go through all of that to find a guy who loves you for you and never wants you to change because again he likes you for you. You’ll find a guy who tells you that you are beautiful every single day until you believe it.
But first, it starts with having confidence in yourself. The guy can tell you every day that you are beautiful until you believe it and it may get annoying but if he loves you for you, then why shouldn’t you be able to as well? You do not need tons of makeup or the fanciest clothing or the best jewelry, but instead you need to have confidence in yourself that you are beautiful, sweet, caring, kind, honest, smart, and the list continues because without you believing in yourself, you will never truly find someone who likes you for you.
Oscar Wilde once said, “be yourself because everyone else is taken.” Well I would like to add onto that with an anonymous quote “Be yourself because everyone else is taken. Sometimes in life, you find a special friend. Someone who changes your life just by being part of it. Someone who makes you laugh until you can't stop. Someone who makes you believe that there really is good in the world. Someone who convinces you that there really is an unlocked door just waiting for you to open it….”
I will leave you ladies with this: It may take a while for you to reach full confidence in yourself and that’s okay. It may take you a while to find that guy who likes you for you and that’s okay too. It may take a while for everything to fall into place for you but in order for it to begin you need to have confidence in yourself and once you have that, anything is possible.
