To The Girl Who Needs To Know That She Is Beautiful
Manu Camargo

Dear girls,

You don't know me and that's okay. I'm just another voice who wants to tell you something you probably don't get to hear a lot. You are beautiful. Every single part of you has been created to be pleasing and wonderful. Your looks are not what defines you. Your weight is not what defines you. I can promise you a guy never loves a girl for her body because your bodies are not what makes you, you.

You can wake up each morning looking into that mirror at your bedside and criticize every little pimple, every freckle. But the reality is, every. single. person. Has imperfections. So many times my heart breaks to see girls who just dislikes themselves because they don't fit the model on the magazine cover. Here is what I wanna tell you on behalf of all the guys in this generation, we care so much about you and you are so gorgeous and ten pounds less is not going to make us love you and more.

That dress doesn't make you look fat. You don't need to constantly be eating healthier so you can cut down one size on your jeans. Stop trying to change who are to be someone better. You are perfect the way you are and society can say whatever it wants, because all of us guys will still love you for exactly as who you are. Accept only the opinions of those closest to you, who speak goodness into you, because they care about you.

You are each created differently because beauty has such a wonderful array of qualities. Imagine if you were all 5' 11'' and weighed 117 pounds, that is the average beauty model size. First off for most that height is impossible and that weight is actually 14% below healthy weight. The ideal perfect body is actually an unhealthy irregularity that Hollywood has fabricated.

The only ones who can define your beauty are those who care about you and really love you. I know so many times you hear guys talking about how they wish a girl has a bigger this or a thinner that, or that they looked more like this person or that person but why do they get to define you? Why does the world say who you are?

Girls: you can keep looking at each others bodies and wishing you had her thighs or that dress, or that you were skinnier or whatever you may think, but that doesn't help. You are looking for your identity and beauty in others and in the world around you, but why not in those closest to you that will speak the truth and life into who you are? Why not find your identity in all of the wonderful things that you simply just are?

Each one of you that reads this needs to know you are perfect! You are beautiful! One day, when the right man comes into the picture, they will love you for all that you are. Every curve, every line, and every shade, the right people will accept you exactly as you are. They will love you for you but because of that, they will still encourage you to push yourself further. Not because they don't like what they see, but because they care and believe that there is even more untapped potential inside you.

Each and every one of you is a princess. You are beautiful and the world should not and can not change that. You are made to be naturally gorgeous and flaws are just little things that make each of you unique. Stop defining yourself as nothing and instead know that you've been refined into the most beautiful creation.

Sincerely,

Someone who cares

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
