Dear One Tree Hill fans,
The time has come, and we never thought it would. We must say goodbye to the days of continuously binging on this series whenever we wanted because now Netflix has removed the show from their site for good. Why would such a thing happen? It's not like they didn't have a solid fanbase? Now that our easy access to a show that changed our lives is gone, we must never forget the moments of the show that made us laugh, cry and a little bit of both.
Let's face it, we all wished we had a relationship like Nathan and Haley, a sassy attitude like the one and only Brooke Davis, a bedroom like Peyton's and a love for books like Lucas. OneTree Hill will always be that one show we reference for any epic events in our lives. For some of us, like me, we grew up watching the show, we watched each character grow up to be the successful adults they are now, we saw their ups and downs, their tragedies, and their successes. We were able to watch a whole friend group survive the major milestones of life together and that should mean a lot.
One tree hill has taught us that, you can grow up with the same friends and continue to be friends. It showed us that you might think you're life is a complete mess that can't be fixed, but in reality, it can. It showed us that there are more things to life than following the typical high school-university path. It showed us serious issues such as suicide, drug abuse, and teen pregnancy and how serious that effects our lives. So here is a shoutout to Mark Schwahn for creating a show that has impacted millions and a shoutout to Gavin Degraw for creating a song that will forever be in the back of my head and probably my alarm for the rest of my life. I'm sure all of us fans will find a way to cope with this emptiness.
Love,
A serious One Tree Hill addict
“It's the oldest story in the world. One day you're 17 planning for someday and then quietly, without you ever noticing, someday is today. And then someday is yesterday. And this is your life.”
