Dear Role Models,

You may or may not know that you are a huge inspiration to me. If you don’t, I sincerely apologize, for you should know that you are amazing people. Seriously.

Whenever I feel like I am inadequate or am not sure of where to go in my life, I look to your examples and all the amazing things you have done. I remember the times you all encouraged me, inspired me, or simply just gave me a smile.

Some of you are famous, and I admire your perseverance and courage from afar. I know that I am simply just another admirer within the crowd, but I cannot help but follow your stories and eagerly jot down your best quotes and sayings.

Some of you are my friends, while others are upperclassmen and women at Creighton. I see you around campus and I want to learn so much from you. I see what you are involved in and I observe your passions within the university and I feel an inspiration growing; a strange type of fearlessness that I too can pave my own path.

And there are still others of you that are within my own family. I grew up with you, closely mimicking all that you did. I looked forward to our time spent together more than anything, because, to me, you were the most incredible people.

I know that you all had role models at one point as well that greatly impacted you. While I don’t think that I would be a very good role model for others, I do hope to continue the trend of positively impacting others and bringing joy into their lives. I hope to make my own role models proud and let them know that they greatly contributed to my life.

For now, I sit back and watch, trying not to sound too creepy. But just know, you are an inspiration, and in days when you are down, remember that. Thanks for motivating and driving me each and every day.
