Dear Long Distance Best Friend,
Most friendships don't have to go through distance as ours has. For 9 months out of the year, we are about 300 miles apart from each other. Is the distance difficult? Of course. Have we handled it with grace? Most definitely. I like to think we have made the most of it and oddly enough I think it has brought us closer to each other. We rely on texting and phone calls and seeing what each other are up to through social media. I know we don't text/ talk as much as we both would like due to our schedules being so different from each other. But that makes our calls and text when we have time to check in even more special. I have heard of many friendships not being able to outlive the distance, but I have been truly blessed with a friend like you that can handle the craziness. Before we became close I never thought we would be where we are today. Even though we go days and or weeks without talking we always can pick up from right where we left off and I thank you for that.
I have watched you grow up and mature into such a wonderful person. I got to witness how we changed from being young children playing on the same soccer and softball teams to being in college pursuing our dreams. I have witnessed you struggle and go through hard times throughout your life. Whether that is school related or boys or even sometimes family issues you have handled everything thrown your way with grace and it truly makes me happy knowing you confided in me with things that were really difficult. Although I am not personally there to support you 24/7 I hope I've made it clear that I am so proud of everything you do. You deserve the world and to be treated like a princess. Never let anyone tell you otherwise. I can't wait until we can hang out again but until then keep thriving in school and life. I can't wait to watch you become the future teacher that you were made to be and to live the best life that you have been given.
I miss you lots.
Love you lots,
-M
