An Open Letter To My Horoscope

Thank my lucky stars

Horoscopes are a very "basic white girl" stereotype. As a very emotional Cancer, I check up on my horoscope weekly. It is just nice knowing what my week will include before hand. Many are skeptical and do not believe in horoscopes. They do not think that constellations and the alignment of stars can determine how someones life is or will be like. I, on the other hand, like to believe that they have an importance in life and can determine some aspects. They speak to my soul and I feel like the stars understand. Anyway, I would just like to take a second to appreciate and thank my lucky stars.

Dear Horoscope,

Thank you for always being so positive. Never have I ever had a nasty horoscope. Not one has told me about the awful day that I might have. You always look for the positive and tell me what to be aware of for the week. From perfect date nights to days I should not even get out of bed you are always letting me know ahead of time. Thank you for being so accurate. Personally I do not understand how people do not believe in your magic powers. They are just way too skeptical I suppose. I am looking out for you though, by recruiting my partner in crime. He now is warming up to the weekly horoscopes I send him and even looking into it on his own time. You have so many people starting to get more interested and follow up on their zodiac sign. Which I think is very important. Being a moon child has shown me that I am very emotional, but I will make it through the day. Thank you for letting me feel better about myself.

If you could not tell by now, I truly enjoy my horoscope. My Cancer descriptions are more or less completely accurate. If you are reading this and have not yet taken a chance on horoscopes, take a look into them. You will be shocked and overwhelmed by how realistic they can be. The only advice I could give you is to not look too into it. The advice is more of an in general description. So just because your horoscope says you might connect with a high school crush, does not always mean dreamy John you stared at everyday is just going to appear in your life. Also, do not blame them. It is just the way the stars are located. They can only predict so much. The rest is up to you and what you decide to do with the information. There will not always be a secret meaning in them. I think horoscopes are a fun addition to anyone's life and can be really interesting. Download an app or just look at the Cosmopolitan Snapchat story every Monday. You will not regret it. Take a chance and trust in your stars.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
