Dear High School Best Friends,
*Sigh,* high school. The toughest, most awkward, stressful, crazy and yet, so far – the most amazing four years of our lives. We began our freshman year as short, extremely naïve, 14-year-olds whose number one fear was being pushed into a locker by the seniors who seemed 10 feet tall. Now, we’re off to college: miles and miles away from each other. Although the distance is more than it ever has been before, “Distance means so little when someone means so much.”
As we approach our much anticipated move-in days, I want you to know the impact you have made on my life and thank you for the memories that I will take with me to college and beyond.
Thank you for being there for me through the awkward stages. I know we all had those rough times, but without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today. And now, we get to look back and laugh (and maybe cry a little too).
Thank you for driving me places when I didn’t have my license yet – which leads me to – thank you for our late night food runs. Although I do love food, I loved spending time together and gossiping together even more.
Thank you for being there for me through the toughest times. There’s no better feeling than knowing there is always a friend you can go to – at any time – who will give you the best advice, a shoulder to cry on, and most importantly, some ice cream.
Thank you for doing nothing with me on the weekends. I will forever cherish our Friday or Saturday nights watching movies, driving around town wasting gas, or sitting in someone’s basement doing absolutely nothing.
Thank you for some of the best years of my life. I’m so grateful to have had such awesome people by my side during this experience. I’m beyond excited to see what’s up ahead for all of us as we go on our own journeys. But, I know when we come back home, we’ll pick up right where we left off.
Best of luck to all of you and have the best time ever!
To college!
Love always,
Julia
