An Open Letter To My Friends From High School
Bryanna LeBron

High school is the first four years of your life where you start to develop yourself. You have your first boyfriend, first breakup (generally), prom and graduation. But your friends, your BEST friends are going to be the people who get you through high school. They are there on the nights you don't sleep, when you have your first heartbreak and they will do anything at any time with you. Friends come and go and it's important to realize that some friends are going to be there forever, and other friends are there to teach you a lesson. These girls, and GUYS, have been there to teach me lessons.

To the girls who taught me everything important in high school, I miss you. Simply said, I love looking back to the time that you ladies were my everything. When I had my first boyfriend, you ladies were the first to broadcast it to the tiny campus of "Newburgh Free Academy: North." There is not a day that goes by where I do not think of you girls. When I think about my first or even my second "boyfriend," if that's even what we can call them, all I can think about is the amount of overwhelming support I received from you girls. I try to think of the words that I want to say to you, but there is simply too much history to say just one thing. I want to take time to thank you. Thank you for being there every-single-day in high school. Thank you for teaching me that everyone grows, and at different paces. Thank you for understanding what it was to be on a sports team, and you never got mad at me when I had practice. Thank you for teaching me about hair, nails, and make-up because I don't have a sister to do that for me. But most importantly, thank you for being such a good friend.

To the guys who gave me an outlook on "a man's world." You guys were like my older brothers/best friends in the same person. When I had an issue with my so-called boyfriend, I went to you because you always knew how to explain the problem to me. Every time that my girlfriends were "too much drama," you were the ones I wanted to hang-out with. You boys showed me the ins and outs of boys and how most of the time males are just as confusing as females. But overall, the men in my life have contributed to my overall understanding of how sweet and thoughtful they are. You boys have showed me that not all men are bad and not all men are inconsiderate. I love you boys, and thank you so much for everything that you have taught me.

To the people I am still friends with: while I graduated a year before you and most of us lost our way but you continued to be my friend. My first year of college followed by my now junior year of college, and you are still supporting me in everything I do. We continue to talk, and most of the time you help me stay insane during finals week. Although we are busy, I understand why we cannot hang out and I understand our growth. So please understand I will always appreciate you and I will always love you.

To the people I am not still friends with: I follow you on almost every social media and I am beyond ecstatic to see how you're doing. You all have turned into smart, beautiful people. I couldn't have wished better for you myself. I enjoyed watching you become the person you are and I miss our conversations. All the best for your future endeavors.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
