Throughout our lives, people will come and go leaving footprints on our hearts and ultimately show us what true love and friendship are. We create memories together and have the times of our lives. We experience sadness and heartbreaks together. We have our ups and downs, and time and time again have argued over something small. Whatever life threw our way, we got through it -- together. But, at some point, growing up got in the way. We started to move away to different schools and got time-consuming jobs. We take on extra activities and sooner or later, our planners are filled with things to do, leaving us with less time than we'd like to spend together. We meet new people and experience new things. We never stop loving our old friends, though.
Whenever a chance is there, we try to get together and catch up like the old times. We stay connected through social media and when there's time, FaceTime/Skype is heavily utilized. Thankfully enough, the time spent together when we do get a chance to meet up isn't awkward at all. It always feels like just yesterday we were sitting in a booth someplace, gossiping and laughing our butts off.
To my forever friends,
You are the people who have seen me at my worst and stuck around even when the going got tough. You were there through my hardships and my triumphs. You're the people who didn't give up on me when I was giving up on myself. You never gave up on me or our friendship when I lost sight of what a true friend was. You are the people, even though we don't see each other as often as we'd like, who will drop anything for me in my time of need. And, I will gladly do the same. You are the people who will always have a special place in my heart and I will always welcome you with open arms.
If I could tell you guys one thing, it would be thank you. Thank you for never giving up on our friendship when our lives got in the way. Thank you for being understanding and patient when plans got cancelled because something came up. Thank you for always calling/texting to make sure I'm okay when tragedy strikes. Thank you for all of the years we've shared together and for the countless memories we've created. Most importantly, thank you for existing and being the wonderful people that you are.
The memories that we've shared throughout our lives are like no other. There are often days when I'm alone in my room, reminiscing on the amazing times that we all had together. I can't help but laugh when I think of everything we've gone through together. From playing sports, to lying to our parents about our actual plans, having sleepovers that really didn't involve any sleep, and spending time doing absolutely nothing except sitting in each others' presence are the times most cherished. Without you guys, I wouldn't be who I am today and I know that for a fact.
We experienced everything together and I am forever grateful that I had you all by my side. Whether it was a win or a lose, I knew that you guys were cheering me on. Even though we're far apart, just know that I'm still cheering you guys on, too. Even if I don't say it enough, I hope you all know how proud I am of the people you've become. It's crazy and yet so amazing to think of how much we've accomplished since we first met each other way back when. It fills my heart to know that I got to grow up with you.
You're the people that I trust with my life. You are the people that will always remain important to me; no matter what life throws our way. You're who I want to share any and all news with and you're the people that I want to experience big life moments with.
Through all these years, and all of the changes we've gone through, I've always been able to count on you and I know that will never change.
I'm proud of each and every one of you. I look forward to hearing about your accomplishments and I love seeing you whenever we get the chance. I love knowing that you're all doing well and that you're genuinely happy.
