Hey Ladies,
As the new year starts I want to thank you girls. Thank you for supporting me through the most challenging-both mentally and emotionally-year of my life. I don't know if I'd be the person I am right now if it wasn't for you all. Thank you for showing me what true friendship actually is. I strongly believe that you were all placed in my life to teach me how to grow, love and be a stronger person.
To me it doesn't matter how long I've known each of you respectively because you are all important members of my life and of the family I created for myself. When I hit some of my lowest points in 2015 you were all there. Filling me with support, words of wisdom, food and most importantly my heart with the love I thought I lost.
To the friend I've known since I was twelve, thank you for sticking around for so long. Even though we hated each other when we first met our friendship grew into the strangest thing ever. You've been in my life for eight years and I honestly don't know what I'd do if you weren't. Like me, you are one of the most honest people in the world. No matter what was happening you weren't and are never afraid to tell me the truth. Whether, it was telling me I was an idiot or telling me he was an idiot and not worth my time; I can always count on you to tell me the reality of a situation. Thank you for having a friendship with me that is so strong that I can just come to your house and fall asleep as soon as I hit the bed. You've seen me at my worst and you've seen me at my best. Thank you for being my low maintenance best friend and being my terrifyingly similar other half.
To the two I've known since high school, thank you for actually liking me throughout high school. We all know how rough and crazy those four years were. Thank you for sticking around through all the drama, ours and mine with other people. Thank you for playing basketball with me on the WORST team in the catholic league. Thank you for hanging out in the woods doing things teenagers think are the coolest. Thank you for going to the same college as me and making the transition to college life that much easier. Thank you continuing our trio from the woods to the frat houses. Thank you for celebrating our last high school and first college homecoming together, even though they both went about the same way. Thank you for making my boyfriend nervous and letting him know that if he hurts me he has you both to answer to. College wouldn't be the same without you, life wouldn't be the same without you.
To the two I met in college, thank you for being my Lasallian sweethearts. You are two of the best women I've been blessed to encounter.
Lyss, thank you for bonding with me over our love of glitter and hate of girls who take snap videos of just themselves. Thank you for letting me sleep all day in your room after a rough night out. Thank you for listening to me vent about everything that goes wrong and giving me the unbiased support that I need. Thank for making every night we go out together an adventure. Thank you for swiping me in to the dining halls knowing I'll only eat a slice of pizza and some fries. Thank you for signing up for an elective class so we could spend two hours learning how to write fiction together. I'm so lucky to have met you last spring and cannot wait to tackle two and a half more years at La Salle with you.
D, thank you for being my favorite unicorn. Thanks for talking to me in the TV lounge last year when I was just a freshman. Thank you for letting me tell you about every boy and every detail of my love life, more than once. Thank you for letting me use you as my pillow and always walking to the lunch truck with me. Thank you for being your silly, loud self and always being able to make me laugh. Thank you for being my honorary white girl when we all go out together. Thank you for letting me cry to you when I can't hold it together any more. You aren't allowed to graduate this year because I don't think I can take the next two years without you.
To the five of you, thank you for being my people. I don't know why or how I happened upon you all but I'm incredibly blessed that I did. As we all get older and life begins to change I know I'm ready to face it all having the five of you in my corner. You've all been there through some of my milestones and I can't wait to see what the future has in store.
XOXO
