An Open Letter To My Disney College Program Family

When I first sent in my initial application for the Disney College Program, I had no idea what I would be in store for...

Whether you've signed up for the six-month adventure or the four-month adventure, get ready because you're about to have the time of your life. You spend most of your time making magic for others in your role as a Cast Member, but when you're not out spreading magic, you're making new connections and friendships with some of the most incredible people that you will ever meet.

When you begin the first week of your college program adventure, you have no idea that the greatest people you have ever met are out there - waiting to meet you ...

In my first week of my Disney College Program, I met some of my best friends. Whether it was meeting on the TranStar bus at Vista Way, Traditions, or meeting at the Patterson Court pool, the people that I met the first week of my Disney College Program have impacted my life forever.

Your college program friends, that quickly turn to family teach you many things while living at the most magical place on earth. On your days off, you often spend countless hours "park hopping," trying to cram as many parks as possible into a single day for the four parks one day challenge. These incredible days are ended with the nighttime showing of "Wishes, a Magical Gathering of Disney Dreams." In these short moments, you feel as if you have the earth at your feet, because, in that moment, the possibilities are truly endless. You, as a Cast Member have the opportunity to adventure as you please with amazing friends from around the globe. You spend every second of every day with your closest friends, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The friendships I made while on the Disney College Program, will stay with me forever. I thank my friends each and every day for teaching me to never give up on my dreams. To stay true to myself. And to always love and care for others. We may be states or even countries apart, but the bonds created while on the Disney College Program are forever irreplaceable.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
