Going away to school can be pretty hectic; adjusting to a new home, attending a brand new school with a brand new campus, making new friends, and just trying to fit in. While all of this can seem like a lot to handle, you can't forget about other things in your life that matter a lot: your best friends from home.
To my best friends from home,
We always say it's so peculiar how a group of such different people found each other, but I'm definitely glad we did. You all are the funniest, weirdest, most amazing people I've ever met, and I'm so glad we shared the memories we did. Through the ups and the downs, I wouldn't have our friendship any other way. The best parts of high school were our movie nights, our family dinners, our game nights, just hanging out and laughing in someone's basement, randomly bursting out into song, 2 a.m. skype calls, late night drives and everything else that no one else would understand. Now, even though we're all attending different colleges, nothing beats coming home during breaks and seeing that nothing has changed between us and knowing that we can all still have a great time together.
Out of everything I can say to you, the most important would have to be: Thank you.
Thank you for always being there for me. Thank you for always hanging out with me. Thank you for reminding me that I'm never alone. Thank you for making me laugh when I want to cry. Thank you for making me feel good about myself. Thank you for picking me up when someone makes me feel bad about myself. Thank you for always believing in me. Thank you for helping me. Thank you for caring about me. Thank you for being you.
Although I've made new friends in college and created a whole new life for myself, never think for a second that you've been replaced. You will never be forgotten, you will never be replaced and you will never be nothing to me. I can't think of a life without friends like you, nor do I ever want to. Just know that you always have a special place in my heart, and you will always be my best friends.
