Dear Kentucky weather,
Hi. It's me. The girl from Ohio. You know, the one who moved to a different state for college to get away from the bipolar weather. Oh, but wait, I didn't move away from it, I moved right to the source. You see, I thought Kentucky weather was supposed to be warm and cozy in the summer like a nice snug blanket and a little chilly and snowy in the winter; not freezing, but not exactly shorts weather. Boy, was I wrong! You sure proved me wrong.
I'd like to ask you something. How come you think it's okay to be really warm one moment, like 70 degrees on Saturday and then drop a whopping 52 degrees, so it's 18 degrees on Wednesday and make me pull out my winter coat again?! It's like one day, I can do homework outside not even bothering to wear a coat and then the next I'm huddled over trying to get the least bit of warmth to stay in my body.
Not to mention, the people who run the air and heat in the buildings can't quite keep up, so it's hot on the warm days and cold on the freezing days! I mean I know it's the dead of winter, but you've given me high hopes of it finally being spring weather and then just shove me to the ground. The groundhog did say spring was just around the corner, but I don't think you're listening as well as you should be. Don't get me wrong, I love the warm weather when it comes. It's just that it's so back and forth, my body doesn't know how to handle it.
And another thing, how come because it's winter, it has to be freezing and raining? I think many would agree with me that cold and rain is the worst combination that there could possibly ever be. It just doesn't fit together. I have a suggestion to fix that, maybe you could snow instead of rain, that way it's prettier and not so wet, and it might give us the opportunity to cancel classes.
Even better idea, you could have another snow apocalypse like you did last year. Which again is something you usual don't do and why, if you snowed a whole lot, people wouldn't know what to do because usually Kentucky doesn't get a lot of snow and school would definitely be canceled. That might just make up for this wacky weather we got going on.
Now, I don't want it to seem like I'm completely bashing you because I'm not trying to. The weather around here can be very beautiful at times; the prettiest I've ever seen, with lots of sunshine and blue skies. And it just so happens to brighten my day each time, ha ha no pun intended!
But the winter is a different story. So basically, all I'm saying is PLEASE make it warm!
Sincerely,
The girl who is currently ready for spring
