Dear Kappa Delta,
First of all, thank you.
Thank you for teaching me that all sororities are not the same. KD has taught to hold myself to a higher standard of education, scholarship, and leadership. My standers in high school where nothing to prepare me to the level I would be held to as a KD. Thank you for helping me to step out of my comfort zone and learn to engage with others who aren't the same as me. You have helped me grow in ways I will forever be thankful for.
Thank for showing me all sorority girls aren't skinny, tall, and blonde. My sisters are all different shapes and sizes and I love them all; not for their weight or hight but for the constant love and support they always show me. Sister love you when you can't love yourself, they pick you up when you fall, and always hold you when you need to break. Nothing says sisterhood like ugly crying on a sister chest with mascara running down her white shirt. <AOT FOREVER>
Thank you for my family, my Big and my G. I knew Kappa Delta was the house for me the moment I walked in the door, but it felt like home the day I got my family. Without them I couldn't make it though a week at school or a week of life for that matter. Ice cream dates wouldn't be as sweet, laughs wouldn't last as long and I wouldn't have my home away from home without my fab fam.
Next, I hope one day I can give back a portion of what you have already given me. Sisterhood that lasts a life time is a hard debt to repay, but I promise I'll try my hardest. You taught me "altruistic service to others" is a pillar I should constantly have in my life. KD gives to me without expecting anything in return. I hope over my years I can give back without expecting in return as well.
I hope that I can lead the new pledge classes with the same leadership, friendship and grace I have been lead with. Showing new KD ladies how to use their unique skills to help our organization grow greater than they ever dreamed.
I hope that we leave a legacy that truly shows that we strove for that which was "honorable, beautiful, and highest".
Lastly, for now, I want to learn everything about Kappa Delta and our organization. I want to be the best KD I can be. I want to spread kindness and confidence like confetti. I want to live these years to the fullest. So that one day I can look back on my days as a KD and know that it has impacted me and I have impacted it. #ifnotforKD I would not have my family, some of my best friends, and everlasting sisterhood.
Thank you for everything, KD.
AOT now and forever.
